Hi All,

Recently I changed the way I workout. For a while now I've been following a 2 day a week full body HIT workout. 1 set of 10 on each exercises Full Tension.

So, to mix things up a bit I'e gone back to a 3 day a week split with lighter intensity but higher reps (12-15). It's almost like a classical bodybuilding split doing chest, Tciceps & Abs one workout. Legs & Abs 2nd workout and Back/Biceps/Abs the third workout.

I'm quite enjoying the change to be honest and feel a bit more energetic.

Anyway, when designing my workout I got to thinking how many exercises are actually necessary per bodypart?

For example, on my Leg Day I'm doing Hindu Squats or DVR Squats (alternated each workout), then DVR leg curls, DVR Leg extensions & 1 leg calf raises. It got me thinking if it's really necessary to do all these exercises? I wonder if all the muscles are actually hit with Hindu Squats. Maybe I should just concentrate on those instead?

Also, for the Back - is it necessary to do 2-3 different back exercises or just one?

What are all your thoughts?

Is it possible to create a simple workout with just one exercise per bodypart. Or even better just a handful of exercises that workout all your body. for example Hindu Squats, Atlas/hindu pushups and pullups.

That's what I love about our kind of training, it always gets you thinking.

Separate calf and hamstring work makes sense. I really don't do anything for arms other than push ups and chin ups lately. Instead of doing isolation work, do a compound movement that targets the muscles a little differently each session.

For example, dips one workout(mostly triceps), atlas push ups(mostly chest) the next, then pike pushups or handstand push ups the next(mostly shoulders.) Likewise, you could alternate chin ups and rows.

Yeah I've been doing Atlas Pushups one workout and Dips the next.

As for Triceps I've just been using the Dips and using Chins for Biceps.

Occasionally I'll add some DVR curls or DVR pushdowns to the mix.

This year I want to concentrate on Squats, Atlas Pushups, Chins & Pullups - they are going to ne the main exercises in my training. I've just got to find the frequency that's right for me.

Cheers for the thoughts guys
