John,

You've told us that numerous studies have shown that isometrics offer the quickest and safest way to increase strength. Also, you've said that VRTs may be the fastest way to build muscle size...and that they also build great strength.

So I'm thinking that combining VRTs and ISOs should be a great way to rapidly build both size and strength. Do these daily with hindu push-ups and hindu squats. Since I can only do about three sets of 8-10 push-ups, I can GTG one set of different types of push-ups every hour throughout the day.

While this makes sense to me, I realize that I'd be omitting the Miracle 7 that I've been doing...and other DSRs that Charles Atlas, you, and others have proven work so well. I feel like I'd be "missing" something very important.

Given that I want to build both muscular strength and size (as much as is reasonable for someone who's almost 60), what is your opinion of the above combination VRT/ISO plus hindus and GTG push-ups at hourly intervals throughout the day.

Thanks!

Whoops! I don't think my original post makes sense in one respect. I talked about the idea of giving up "DSRs" like Atlas and John Peterson used. I believe that Atlas mainly used what John calls DVRs...and that VRTs are extremely similar to them.

John, does my overall workout idea makes sense? That paragraph is in bold font in my original post.

Thanks!

Just my opinion but that seem a bit extreme. That a lot of work to do in one day. What I would suggest is to use a split routine. one day do isometrics and hindu push-ups and the next day do dvr and regular push-up. It would keep you from burning out.
