what's the difference between doing the iso pulse static contraction isometrics and doing the standard isometric contraction. What are the advantages and disadvantages towards one another?

While doing IsoPulses you build high-tension in an isometric hold, maintain it for 1-2 seconds and then release tension for 1-2 seconds and build high-tension again.
Repeat the procedure of build and release for 10-12 times.
And an classic isometric hold is when you slowly build tension up to peak intensity and maintain it for a duration of 10-12 seconds and then slowly release tension.
I think the pulse contractions are better for getting a pump in the muscle and may therefore facilitate more muscle growth but the classic 10 second hold lets you use a lot more intensity (unless you have really honed your abilities to contract a muscle)
