Hello Fellow Forum members,

I had been working on a post about “doing God’s will.” I was timid about sending it because I wasn’t sure anyone would be interested. Then today I had a dream that I think confirms that I should send in the post:

Dream 22Feb09:
I was with a group of believers. I can’t recall everything, but I think it was the care group and I think we were on horses racing somewhere. The main point was the urgency of getting there. In the next scene, I was with the principal of the Messianic school and he was racing to get the kids home. There was the same urgency as when we were on the horses. At some point in the dream all of us from the care group were looking in the dictionary to find the right word. When we found it, we really grasped it. It was close to “eager” but I can’t remember it. It was something like “urgent” but I’m not sure that was exactly it. As were we delivering the kids to their homes, the van was going very fast, but there was nothing dangerous about it. It was just very important to get the kids home. When I woke up, these words came to mind: They rush on the city, they run on the wall, for great is the army that carries out His word.

Joel 2:7 (King James Version)
7They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks:

I believe that God is confirming the urgency of His children and His army doing His will. And I believe God is confirming that it is urgent for His children to come home, to dwell in Jesus, God’s house, because when they dwell there, they will do God’s will.

Colossians 2:9 (King James Version)
9For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

John 14:20-21 (King James Version)
20At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
21He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Here is that post (shortened from the original):

If I told you God brought me to Heaven (in a dream), you might imagine that He showed me all manner of wonderful creatures: angels, cherubim, serufim; or the majesty of the galaxies; or a panorama of past, present, and future events from the Bible. But none of that was shown to me. Instead, God showed me something very simple: His will.

Psalm 133:1 (King James Version)
1Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

Matthew 22:36-40 (King James Version)
36Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38This is the first and great commandment. 39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

I was in a room just like a room on earth. The difference between that room and an earthly room was that that room was perfect: it was solid and stately and contained good things to do. I saw Jesus there along with my four younger children and myself. The difference between my children in that room and my children on earth was that they were in harmony. And of course, in that room Jesus was present bodily.

To think that God would transport me into His world and show me something as basic as what is written in His Word. Our relationship with each other is of supreme importance to God, second only to our relationship to Him. Doing God’s will in our relationships with our brethren is more important to God than all the suns, moons, stars, planets, and created beings in the universe.

God’s will is so supremely important that it is the first thing God showed me in His house. (This is connected with God's love, but - Lord willing - I will explore that in more detail in another post.)

Luke 11:2 (King James Version)
2And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

This is the most powerful prayer in the universe. God’s will is defined in Heaven. God has given us prayer as a tool to draw down His will from Heaven to earth.

There are many more important insights from this dream, but I will leave them for another time.

For now, I would like to leave with you the idea that Heaven is not about fanciful creatures or otherworldly landscapes: God’s house in Heaven is the blueprint for God’s will in the earth. We pray according to the Lord’s Prayer to make the things of Heaven real in the earth. When we do God’s will, He rewards us with His love.

A few things to think about… Comments and questions are welcome.

April sometimes dreams are just dreams. Your dream might portend a war or emergency. But that might be a reflection of your ingesting the News; Iran has enough Nuclear Material for a making bomb according to the Ultra Liberal Pro-Muslim UN. Iran has been threatening to destroy Israel and all it's people in a Nuclear halocaust, a threat that must be taken very seriously.

I've said many times here it is both a Sicilian and Chinese curse; "may you live in interesting times", unfortunely the world is in interesting times.

MikeNY,
Lately I've been getting my news from you here on this forum! Actually, when I lost my job we cancelled the TV to save money, so I am not really aware of what is going on in the world. I know that things are being set in place for some catastrophic events, and while I think about that somewhat, I can't understand the details and mostly have to focus on being a mom which takes a lot of my mental energy.

Having said all that, I cannot be certain about the meaning of the dream. BUT, considering what you mentioned about things heating up in the world, that just underscores for me the importance of the other things in the post - taking care to make God our refuge, strength, fortress, and deliverer: dwelling in Him.

While world events conspire together to usher in the Anti-Christ, at the same time and in a more hidden manner, God is gearing up for something even greater for the Body of Messiah. But the first step towards that is to learn to dwell in Him day by day, minute by minute. When we have been faithful in the small things, God will give us more. I believe that God has shown me what that "more" is, but I would say that most in the Body are not ready even to know what it is, let alone for it to happen.

Best regards,
April

April I am a believer in Jesus Christ and our Lord God. It feels to me that the end of times is a long way off. War comes and goes, it always has and always will. Sadly mankind needs to grow up.

Hi MikeNY,
There have been so many predictions of when the end is that I don't really pay attention any more.

You are a student of history and you see the never-ending cycle of war. You are right: wars and rumors of war. Whenever the end will be, even if it is 100 years away, I think God is starting to alert people about what is ahead, but the truth is that few can receive it and few will listen.

Christians tend to be alarmists. I can hardly stand to read all the alarmist prophetic e-mails that go out anymore, such as what went out last fall: martial law will be enstated before Bush leaves office so that Obama will never become president; and many other outlandish "prophecies" that ended up never happening. You see what is happening and it generally takes time, a long time. We've already discussed the Muslim take-over plan that started decades or even centuries ago. You may be right that the end is a long way off. I don't know. God has certainly been speaking to me about the end-days, but I can't say I know exactly where we are in history.

Prophecy is eternal - from God's point of view it is always valid, even if it is centuries away. Jesus said He would come quickly. Two millenia later...quickly??? Where is He? The end times may be right around the corner - well, to God they are anyway. We may get prophetic glimpses of where God is going, but it is like a pointer so we can know the direction, even if we don't get the full picture.

How do you think mankind is going to grow up? Haven't we had enough time to try to do that?

Speaking of the end, I've got to end. It's time to get my kids to bed. Talk to you another time...
