Hi All,
Just got back from my holidays - had a full week off training and feel quite fresh now and ready to carry on again.
Still got pain in my shoulder - tried doing a pushup this morning and couldn't manage one! had to stop as the pain's still bad.
Been doing the M7 now for about 4-5 weeks. Only 3 times a week for 1 set of 10 each exercise and my upper body's starting to look good (apart from the fat around my waist) plus some lunges and/or Hindu Squats & DVR Squats.
I was wondering if anyone had any advice on exercises to do for my shoulder. I went to the doctors but he wasn't much help - the usual painkillers and plenty of rest advice. He said I've got a strained Trap muscle but the pain's from within the shoulder joint rather than the muscle itself so I'm not convinced.
Looking forward to any advice or similar experiences you may have had.
Later dudes

When I hurt myself last year, it was about 6 months before I could P\U in any volume.
Things that helped:
1. High Reach
2. arm grabs
3. find the EXACT angle of motion that hurts, and apply gentle DVR tension...NB listen to your body on this and understand the difference between good and bad pain.
Good luck
Jon
Don't discount the rest. You went on vacation and did push ups - that's not rest.
I have no idea if your situation is the same as the one I was in. I did arm circles daily, both ways, repping my age. I also did egyptians. I did the exercises in a range that didn't hurt AT ALL. That range was just a few inches to start. After many months I was pain-free and had very good flexibility in both shoulders.
Good luck,
Tom

Thanks for the advice guys.
Don't worry Tom, I got back from my hol's yesterday, only tried a pushup this morning to see if the pain was still there. I wasn't actually doing pushups as a workout.
Sticking with the M7 for a while I think.

About 15 years ago I developed a very severe case of tennis elbow that just wouldn't heal. I tried everything and nothing worked. Eventually I stopped everything that I was doing including playing golf and started using a combination of rest and DVR/VRT exercises. The combination really worked and I have had no trouble with the elbow since that time. This stuff really works, but rest has to be part of the cure.

Rest is very important to recovery. One of the things you might want to check out is feng shui. I know lots of people use feng shui for wealth and attracting relationship but they can also be use for health recovery.
of course feng shui falls into the realm of energy. it's the 2nd longest profession in the world. the first one is prostitution. somehow the chinese have figured out a formula to predict energy flow. it's pretty accurate too as i can tell if i'm in a good energy area or bad due to my chi kung practices. i would compare my experience with the feng shui formulas and they match up. Geomancy is the term in america but they use it for different purpose rather than for everyday purpose interaction.
i'm talking about classical feng shui, not the new age of object replacement. it's basically all about chi in the environment. hang around good energy area and you can recover faster. sleep in the right direction to get the earth energy align with you and you'll recover faster. I highly recommend joey yap as he is an international master who's a great teacher that explains the system very easy. his flying star feng shui book is the best out there in my opinion in terms of explanation and learning the skill. I'll leave you to search for his materials if your interested as this forum is not about selling product but about health forum. went to his seminar this weekend and got some cool nuggets.
I read an article research in the past that they found a common cause of cancer illness or chronic health illness due to the earth's negative vortex in one's home. being expose to moving energy don't allow your body to rest and heal.
bottom line. energy environment and one's energy is one area one need to think of too when one is injured. good food support healing and so do environment. i'm sure you can tell as everyone have experiences being in a cluttered messy home vs. a clean open space environment as well as being in nature vs. city environment. it's all feng shui related.

Thanks for the info sillypup! I've never thought of Feng Shui like that before. I've actually booked another appointment with a doctor for this week so I'll see what happens.
I'll look on the internet for some more info about FS though, thanks!
I've also been looking into 'The Alexander Technique' for back strengthening exercises etc - spinal re-alignment and all that. Looks very interesting.
thanks again

Went to the doc's again today, he's made an appointment to see the physio next week. I'm going to take in my M7 book to show him, see if I can get together some exercises to help.
Will keep you all posted
