Hey guys, new here. I'm a big strength nut with interests ranging from grip and wrist strength to kettlebells to powerlifting and strongman to gymnastics.
I haven't had a workout here in about a week but here are some of my recent ones...

I also played with my 50kg KB again. Wasn't feeling the push presses today, but I decided to try and swing-throw it. I ended up getting over 10ft and about 7-8 throws over 7'6".

I actually followed a link from this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZrweL5TiW_4&feature=related
I noticed there is interest in old-time feats of strength and figured I'd pop in to see. Is this an exclusive forum or something? If so I apologize.

Hi Zach;
It's not so much that it's an exclusive forum or anything, but it's just that you may have differing goals and not so much support here than say at the "Hardgainer" forum (My personal favorite when I'm lifting) http://www.hardgainer.com/roundtable.html , or other such forums www.brookskubik.com.
In my own example, I wouldn't personally post my weightlifting only workouts here when I lift, not only for the aforementioned reason about differing goals, but also in respect for John Peterson, who owns the site.
Now, don't take this as you can't post, or post your workouts, only that your motives may be misconstrued for posting just weight-based workouts...
Like I said, I like weightlifting (But I'm not right now).
Even then, I post here & greatly value the physical culture information dispensed.
You also Zach, while enjoying some of the information here presented, you just might not get the encouragement in your workouts as you would elsewhere...
Hey, by the way, good workout!
Lots' of sets though, you must get sore?

Ah, I get it. Sorry about that. I didn't really lurk around here before posting to get the feel of the place so that's my bad.
I'm not really after encouragement in my workout log. I'm not that well versed in forums so I figured this would be the best way to introduce myself.
I have a goal to squat my BW for 100 reps, so I'm getting myself prepared right now by slowly building up volume. I don't actually get that sore after the 10x5's anymore, just fatigued.
So would posting my gymnastics, kettlebell and mobility/flexibility training be more appropriate?

Zach,
You should lurk around and get some of John's books. The culture of this site is going to be a lot different than any other site you're going to see. The physical culture here is about training with bodyweight and self resistance rather than using weights to build strength, foundational health and fitness. It's not about being a bodybuilder or a powerlifter.
Get Pushing Yourself To Power for a good understanding of the Transformetrics system.

Hi Zach,
Welcome to our forum. I'm sorry that your entrance here was a bit awkward.
To help you understand what we are about here, you might want to check out this sticky posting of an introductory FAQ (http://www.transformetrics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=178#posts) on Transformetrics and related modalities, such as VRT and Charles Atlas's Dynamic Tension, etc.
I would also suggest getting Pushing Yourself To Power (http://www.bronzebowpublishing.com/pushing-yourself-power) (PYTP). In my opinion, for a knowledgeable exerciser like yourself, this is the best all-around book describing this modality of exercise. It helps one design a program specifically geared towards one's individual interests and needs.
Even if you decide to continue with apparatus such as kettlebells and weights, there's a wealth of useful information there. You can use this modality as a supplement, and you may decide after a while that self-resistance and bodyweight exercises are the main strings on your fiddle.
One of the things I like about the book is that it contains a lot of history of physical culture, something that you said is of interest to you. John documents where he got a lot of his ideas from with some very interesting stories about well-known, as well as lesser-known, figures of the 20th century and before.
This book also is a pretty encyclopedic collection of routines and exercises. It is well illustrated.
I suggest spending the $5 more to get the spiral binding. That's why I provided a link directly to Bronze Bow Publishing instead of Amazon. Nobody else seems to carry the spiral binding, and unfortunately, the standard binding does not hold up very well.
