Throughout his copious writing, you will find many references to being slaughtered in LOVE by Rumi.

Indeed in all Mystical traditions you will find this concept of 'dying into love/life'.

Our lives are increasingly faster, individually and collectively.Last night I watched one of my favorite Steven King movies,'The Shawshank Redemption'.The old man that is finally released has some truly great lines as he tries to make sense of the outside world. He says,'The world went and got itself busy'.When he went into prison he had only seen one car,by the time he got out, cars had become the predominant mode of transportation.

Can we die in this battlefieldof LOVE with so many distractions,an ever faster world? Can we make sense of the 'outside world/inside world'?Are we all not just prisoners if we don't?

Being slaughtered/dying into the spirit of God/of LOVE means that you give everything. It means that false perceptions, erroneous ideas are burned into the fire. Our fingers reach slowly to the edge of the fireplace-to release.

Release we must.If we hold onto petty thoughts and anger a different kind of fire burns and deforms. It allows for darkness not light. It allows for the putrifying odor of hatred, the kind that has started wars and killed innocents from the beginning of time-with our species.

As we approach our matts we take a gamble each and every day. Will this be a time when I can release the cloak of,'can't-won't be able to-I am to old-i wonder why my husband/wife makes me so,etc...'.

This cloak this hardening aspect of our very lives can be released. When it is the potential of this Sacred moment is here,in it's unadorned entirety. It is then that all bets are off,it is then that we find our second, third wind.

It is then that we step onto the battlefield of LOVE and open.Body/mind/spirit becoming like fine steel, forged yet flexible through the forge of'beyond limiting mind'....

have a pleasant day,

peace,
jason

Times of great change such as we are going through right now are threatening because we are enterring the unknown. The tendency for many people is to draw inward and concentrate on small unimportant ,but predictable things. The real answer though is to let go and live the experience to the fullest. That is the only way that you can really find out what you are here for and fulfill your destiny-the ultimate purpose of your life.
