Hey Gordon,

I would not be surprised if this man, Bernard Madoff, is responsible for a great number of suicides in the future. It's unbelievable that he could have done this for so long and knowing full well that it would all eventually blow up. This guy is one very evil man. He cares about no one but himself.

John, I am sure there will be more suicides,but in addition to that there will be a number of accelerated stress related deaths from people who have been betrayed by someone that they trusted and who in many cases used charaties and religious connections as a character reference. What this man did seems to many of us beyond belief as he maintained contact with these people for years-decades while he had to know that he was ultimately destroying their lives. When people have been betrayed like that and lost all hope the mind shuts down and death occurs. I saw a number of cases like that during the Savings and Loan Crisis of the 1980s.

Hey Guys,

This is the Christian Minister in me coming out now, but I cannot begin to imagine what it would be like to stand in front of God on the day of Judgment having willfully destroyed the lives, careers, and families of so many people. Bernard Madoff must have ice water running through his veins. And as far as the assets that he was supposedly sending through the mail, I seriously doubt that it amounted to much. By that I mean that I am certain that he had been transferring the vast majority for many years previous to allowing his sons to supposedly 'turn him in'. That was not done until just about everything that could be hidden was hidden.
