Have you found it better in terms of increasing reps and size to do reps until you are near failure and then stop a set? Or to do reps until you are almost to failure, rest for a few breaths, continue doing reps, and repeat this as many times as you can until you stop the set?

I can argue for both methods, but wonder what you guys have found.
