Good question. I actually revisted the calf section and I think you could ask that of many of the exercises in there. I've traditionally done them as PCs at relatively high volume (100 or more a leg). I think they're actually adaptable to use as PCs, PCs with DVR resistance or Iso.

A year or so ago I do remember adding Iso stops at different points throughout the range of calf exercise trying to cut down on the number of reps.
