I saw this story and thought it brought up many questions about how the FDA looks at nutrition. I'm curious what everyone thinks of this:

My name is MikeNY and yes I am an addict; addicted to whole wheat cheerios. It started when I was young, the local grocer aka pusher gave me a free sample. The first taste is always free!

Joe good find.

Hey Guys,

This is insane. It is widely known that certain foods will elevate cholesterol levels. And likewise some foods can help lower it. It's just another example of the watch dogs majoring on the minors.

So, lets move the raw fruits and veggies into the pharmacy, because we all know what they do! If snickers told the truth and advertised that they increase cholesterol would they be labeled a drug?

Cheerios may indeed lower chlosterol but like many "drugs" it MAY have undesirable side effects - eg unhealthy, elevated blood sugar

Once again damn yankee smack heads. lol :)

You only get one warning to stay away from the coco pops. that monkey who sells them is a massive pusher. watch out

Tom

You mean those English Texans down under don't have substance abuse problems too?

I hear they find Aussies out cold in the street all the time with the heavy smell of Vegemite on their breath.
