So for about a week or so, I quit doing push ups and started doing alot of ISO PowerFlexes, Mainly Tricep, Bicep and Thighs. I would do multiple sets through out the day even though from what I hear only one should be enough. Well I did notice my bicep/tricep starting to get more defined and bigger but I started doinig PU's again today and man...you loose your endurance quick if you stop doing these things.
I would usually average around 15 PUs , 1min break and keep doing multiple sets
Today I was able to do sets of 10, down by 5!!

Moral of the story....KEEP DOING YOUR PUSH UPS!!!

Heygs300tx,

Don't worry about it my friend. Your endurance will come back very quickly. And what you have stated about Iso-PowerFlexes mirrors my experience exactly. The good news is that we have many, many productive techniques in our arsenal of exercise methods and strategies. Thanks for your post.

I quit doing pushups 3 years ago because I wanted to specialize on DVR/VRT, Isometrics and Isometric Power Flexing. When I quit I could do 100 pushups in a row. I recently set a goal to get back to 100 consecutive pushups by my 70th birthday which comes later this month. I started practicing pushups to reach my goal several weeks ago and I am already up to 100 pushups. Transformetrics offers a number of ways to build strength and you can switch from one to the other fairly easily unlike other forms of exercise and even at this age.

I recently discovered that, for me, a layoff of three days is ideal. That's long enough for all the aches and pains to go away, but one more day and I start losing strength.

Great Input Friends,

But let me underscore one irrefutable fact. My friend Gordon Anderson has mastered the MIND/MUSCLE connection. He can lay off for three years and be right back to where he was in world record time because of this level of self mastery. Like Gordon, once any of us attains this level we never have to worry about not having this, or that, or whatever, because once you have gained this level of self mastery all you need, you have and it's with you 24/7. Remember: it is not a question of 'where there is a will there is a way.' Simply put, Your will is the way.

Push-ups are the core of my routine. Standard, Atlas 2, Tiger stretch... I do them all and the benefits are felt throughout the body. Some days you have more time than others and you may really be crunched for time other days.

50 here, 25 there done over the course of the day and you will see results!

Your body, your gym...any time, any place, any body!
