Thanks for posting this.
I can actually remember seeing Charles Atlas on
the show "I've Got A Secret" back in the early 60's...
I think I was about 14 years old. One year later I would
purchase the course, I still have it. One of the best investments
I ever made.

Hello dkg1,
I see this is your first post. Great to have you with us. One thing that was really obvious in that clip was that Mr. Atlas was a genuinely nice, soft spoken sort of guy. Just exactly the way you would expect Mr. Atlas and his students to be as a result of how self assured he was about who he was and the message he offered. One GREAT guy.

Yes, he does appear to be quite humble and a nice guy. There was something more glamorous about fashion and the speech patterns of previous generations.
It's funny how easily people were entertained by their televisions in earlier years. I wonder if people would be entertained by this type of show today without the hype of today's tv shows.

Cool video! I showed that clip to my mom, and she said "He looks normal with his clothes on!"
Silly jokes aside, what she meant was that he looked fit and strong, but didn't look like he was ready to burst out of his shirt. I have friends who are bodybuilders, and they look amazing in their gym clothes. When they're dressed in normal clothes, their large chests and big legs actually make them look fat! They're clearly not, but because they are "out of proportion" and overdeveloped, as some might argue, they look that way.

Hey Ben,
I couldn't agree more. Overbuilding the chest and legs does make you look fat in clothes. I was bulky for a lot of years and it was impossible to find clothes that fit. A popular non-steroid weight training program promises you that you will "junk your old clothes," because you will get so big. I've been there and used that routine for way too many years. Yes, you do junk your clothes, but on the contrary, you still don't look like a bodybuilder. You look like a bulky weightlifter.
Thanks to Transformetrics I am junking my clothes in the opposite direction and I look like a bodybuilder. I also have more athletic fitness. Sometimes in the pursuit of muscular bulk, in an attempt to look like a non-steroid bodybuilder like John Grimek or Steve Reeves, we confuse the fact that it is not just a 200+ bodyweight that makes a bodybuilder, but how the musculature is put together. Realistically, the arm and leg measurements might be slightly smaller, but if you lose several inches off your waist and hips the limbs will actually look bigger.
