Rather than spending too much time working on my predicting skills, I'd rather work on my coping skills

yup. whether she advise us to do good. it makes no difference as majority of the people is in a whole lots of hurt due to greed from our corporate and congress. congress knew they made a mistake on allowing huge loans to be issued to homes without background income check or down payment. this allowed them to flip houses for profit over and over. and not to mention pushing/persuading those who can't afford homes to actually buy expensive homes. basically it destroyed the low class and middle class having a ripple effect on the economy. of course congress won't admit their purposeful mistake. they just keep their mouth shut and hope all is forgotten. who knows what they are doing illegally to make up for their losses. they just seem to throw out a bunch of big numbers out of a hat to give illusion of help.
when general public see big numbers they think gov is investing in helping us yet they aren't. they don't tell us where it's specifically being allocated. they give general area but there are so many loop holes when using general area. it might just funnel into their own pockets just like them bailouts. we never know.
I agree gruntbrain. we must learn how to cope with whatever is about to come down on most people. her predictions are great but we need a solution to help all. which won't happen as those running country are trying to protect themselves sacrificing the many for the few rather then sacrificing the few for the many. that sounds like we are in a screwed up movie now. yet it's reality. may all good people get bless. they didn't deserve all these coming hardships due to faults of the few who run our country and stealing our tax money and social security. there won't be any social security as they are borrowing from it. they are creating too much debt to be paid back. and not to mention, they are using our tax money to pay it back. so it's a cycle of ponzi scheme in my opinion. now that many are unemployed, they don't get enough tax money to continue their ponzi scheme. guess they will have to figure out what to do to get tax money up and running again.
I just can't understand that those who run our country can't see common sense that running the country on borrowed debt is a failure direction yet they keep doing that. it's just another big example of the country living beyond one's income means. didn't those idiot advisors learn from basic finance course that debt suppose to be paid back and that creating more is bad if those debt aren't good debt making profit to pay off old debt?
we can only hope things get better soon. I went out in the weekend morning which I usually don't as I often sleep late and wake up late. I notice the whole city is like a ghost town. hardly anyone around. it usually is busy with tourist and people running about, socializing, exercising, etc... it's like a dead city. And this is san francisco around 10 am. things really are getting worse and seems to show now. lack of people going out and having fun is a bad sign. guess everyone or most people are trying to be conservative now.

"The pendulum swings back and forth." We have just gone through a period of over economic stimulation and now we are going into a period of over contraction. I believe the cause of our current problem is " Incompetence with a liberal sprinkling of fraud." The problem now is that we are trying to cure the current situation with a number of programs based on unproven theories and financed with a mountain of debt borrowed from nations that are not friendly to us. As a result the cure may be worse than the disease.

true andy. great analogy to the health field.
I do think that they aren't trying to cure the disease. they are following the well known procedure of treating the symptom of the disease since it's brought them so much profit. we can only wait to deal with the side effects.
