Greetings!
Anyway. I picked up a copy of Pushing Yourself to Power about two weeks ago, and it was one of the best purchases I've made this year. I've never been in spectacular shape, even as a teenager, and at 25 years old and 6', I weigh about 200-205. Sucks. I'm not incredibly out of shape, just not as strong as I should be, and flabby. I always wanted to get in great physical shape, but I was a student, and I ate what students eat, and made up the excuses to avoid it, such as time constraints, poor energy, you know. On moving back to Colorado, I gained 20 lbs, but still put it (cleaning up my diet and exerting myself) off.
So, last week, I ran through the book at two lessons per day, and in the past two days, I've done a short session every hour or so consisting of a few (think 5-10) Hindu/Furey Squats and pushups, the Atlas pushups, and the neck bridge, plus all the exercises for a specific body part as directed. I don't think that I'll continue such a grueling schedule, but it has made a difference. What with cleaning my diet up, I've maybe lost only a pound, but have noticed harder muscles with little divots where there were none before, along with some indentations on my flabby gut where my abs will someday be. And each session was only about ten or so minutes in length, not 30 minutes to the gym, ten minutes changing, and hour working out, and then reverse. Thanks for reading, I'll try to post some progress pics, and Thank you John.
