I was looking over Brooks Kubik's Best Seller today and checked it out and looked at the basic exercises for weight lifting (eg. Push Presses, Deadlifts, Bench Pressing, Squats, Sand Bags, Thick Bar Presses) and thought about the VRT method. I figured this was a great way to look at VRT for bodybuilding and so I visualized the Sand bags weighing what 200 pounds and pictured myself clean and pressing it. After visualizing I did the exercise for 5 reps to experiment w/ and it felt awesome. Now for those who haven't heard of the book its a weight lifting book that covers how the old-timers trained for olympic weightlifting and for serious hardcore strength and power. VRT is such a great concept that it can be used for this particular subject. Just imagining lifting weights like the old-timers is a fascinating way to use Greg's Method. Thought I'd share that incase some of you have trouble visualizing. In your mind you're a champion weightlifter and you're pressing weight that made people believe was impossible. I like picturing myself being John Griemik (Andy62 might have the idea) and pressing world record lifts and then posing at the end. Just that alone would be a great workout. Sorry to ramble on just thought i'd get out what was on my mind lol.

Like climbers & mountains, we lift those imaginary objects cuz they're there( or is it cuz they're not there?)

Benny when I first started VRT I just could not visualize it, so I cheated and got a four foot long red oak fighting staff as a bar for my barbell and two red oak (new & clean) wooden foot-rolls as dumbells! that let me use the system and I was lifting weights without weights, then I was able to put aside the fake barbell and dumbells and use VRT alone.

Benny VRT has not limits, you can visualize a Smith Machine or any machine you want, price is no limit with VRT. Bring the whole Gym home of you want.

Hey Benny,

I posted a thread earlier on the 'Ask John Peterson' forum earlier today and have been thinking of the same things myself,

Love your idea of working out like you suggested though, it's great adding new ideas and stuff to this kind of training.

That's why I love it, any form of workout can be adapted to this, any kind of movement really. By doing your 'sport', 'movement', 'workout style' etc etc with tension will enhance your ability in that sport.

Just Excellent!!

Thanks guys and these ideas do work. I tried a workout last night looking over the routines from Dino Training and figured trying a few of them of my own. After doing few sets of few reps per exercise (Curls, Tri Pressdowns, Bench Press, Pulldowns, Sand bag lift, upright rows) I felt so powerful and my physique in the mirror didnt look the same and for a split second I thought I saw a different person. I was flexing and I must have had good lighting that I saw muscles pop out of nowhere like a bodybuilder. It was very satisfying and defenitly something to look forward to. This really puts in the tune of Muscle Control and for good reason.

I gotta believe "real dino" trainers would benefit from including VRT versions of their lifts. Waming up with light tension VRTs would also get 'em in the groove
