Dr. Ignarro, a pharmaceutical professor, discovered a "miracle molecule" which will eliminate bypass surgery, lower and finally end arteriosclerosis, reduce plaque and eliminate arterial blood clots, lower blood pressure, and generally cure almost all problems of cardiovascular disease. He won the 1998 Nobel Prize for this discovery, but unfortunately his work has never been given very much publicity, due to the fact that the medical profession is finding it too easy, too plentiful, too cheap as a cure for almost all heart maladies.

That miracle molecule is Nitric Oxide. It is the curative component which is found in Nitroglycerine, a vasodilator (expands and relaxes a narrowed artery, which reduces chest pain. lowers blood pressure and virtually eliminates heart attacks), and also is the vasodilator which ends impotence (found in Viagara and other E.D. drugs). This would end the need for cholesterol inhibitors like Lipitor or Crestor, because it also eliminates arteriosclerotic plaque build-up. Nitroglycerine is expensive and lasts only a few minutes, but the key molecule or compound in it can be found elsewhere in less expensive form.

Where to find this? The easiest source of Nitric Oxide (chemically depicted as NO) is an amino acid called L-Arginine. It suppresses an enzyme which inhibits the formation of Nitric Oxide. (Not to be confused with Nitrous Oxide (NO2), which is laughing gas). Believe it or not, it's the same compound found in smog, but it's usage on an individual in supplements that contain L-Arginine, or taking L-Arginine itself, can perform miracles in regards to your heart health.

Greg with so many Americans and people around the world suffering from heart disease this discovery should have been trumpted from the rooftops and looks like it was supressed. This one item could make the lives of so many people so much better.

L-Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate or AAKG is the good stuff! :pill:

This is the primary, and usually only, ingredient in the Nitric Oxide supplements you see at GNC and Vitamin world. In addition to the heart healthy effect it makes a pump last much longer and if you take it before a workout you get and maintain a pump longer. I take it at night, it is suppose to help greatly in recovery if you take it right before bed.

Since AAKG is an amino acid you want to take it by itself. I've read that isolated amino acids kind of compete with one another. So if you want the benefits of Branch Chain Amino Acids (BCAA) and AAKG, you don't want to take them together, space them out an hour or so. Also don't take them with a protein source because protein is, after all, just a collection of amino acids. So when taking any of these you should only take them with water or juice, not milk.

Durk Pearson & Sandy Shaw helped create the L-Arginine craze at least 25 years ago; they got Clint Eastwood on the stuff & even wrote his movie the Dead Pool.

Note L-Arginine powder is tolerable only if taken with a sweetner like xylitol or stevia

Imagine raising NO levels while meditating or practicing qigong with deep breathing seems to good to be true. However, if it feels good then usually do it

This makes perfect biological sense, Gruntbrain.

After all, deep breathing, as Farmer Burns said, "can make a sick man well and a weak man strong." It (long deep breathing) is recommended as a way to lower blood pressure approved by the AMA (see the device called "RESPeRATE" for helping to reduce breathing rates to 9 per minute, which lowers blood pressure when practiced 15 min. per day).

Slowed, deepened breathing also causes one to lose weight (see the "Oxycise" program) which is yet another happy side affect of Nitric Oxide prodcucing L-Arginine. :act-up:

Greg well one thing most here on this site do is various forms of deep breathing, from Yoga, Martial Arts and Qigong. Plus the various Bronze Bow methods encouurage deep breathing.

Greg there is a very old trick from the Catholic Eastern Rite; just listen to your breathing. So simple and so easy, makes you breath deep and fully.

Funny how so much of this knowledge comes out of Monesteries, Catholic, Buddist and dao and even Sufi could be considered the Monks of Islam. Systema seems to have origins in Estern Monesteries.

I hope you know I wasn't endorsing the NO supps incl. L - arginine. I was lamenting about how NO gas uptake is being exploited
