View Full Version : Hopeful's GOAL -- 500 straight TBS

I am starting this log because I believe I need encouragement to attain the goal of 500 straight Tiger bend Squats a day. So any encouragement you would like to give is most welcome.
I am capable of 100 straight, but I need to work back up to that as well. The reason why TBS --is because I believe I have been overlooking my base-- ie-- my legs. Also I need cardio. And I believe TBS are the way to do both.
I work as a librarian. You might think that is not a physically demanding job, but for me it is. Shifting the entire library from shelf to shelf, moving cart loads of books from one area to another, simple shelving of a cart to carts of books, etc..., can take its toll on me.
Transformetrics and transformetrics-like sites have been a great help to me. The exercises here are very beneficial both spirtiually, personally ( as far as looks and general well being are concerned), and professionally (being able to do my job better). So I am hoping and I know these Tiger Bend squats will help me in some way.
What I plan on doing:
Just simply logging how many straight or continuious TBS I do per day. And I hope that will keep me on track towards my goal.
Thanks.
PEACE

Hey Hopeful,
I was wondering what the time limit for your goal of 500 is? One thing I realized about these squats is that doing them at just a slightly slower rate makes it seem like you can keep going all day. Ideally there must be a perfect balance between the lactic acid threshold and muscle fiber fatigue.. lemme know if you get any insights on your way up to 500.

Hi Indigo_Alpha:
I will do so.
Today i did:
60 TBS
2 minute Charles Atlas Neck Bridge
Later today i will also start adding WPT's. I find though that starting my routine with TBS helps me get over that mental hump of "if I am able to do it" and leaves me with a good feeling for the rest of my workout.

Hi All:
Today I did:
100 TBS
1.01 minute Charles Atlas Neck Bridge
I did not time my 100 but regardless those 100 were a very good workout. The minute bridge is all I could do after that. I find the wrestler's bridge really takes the cramp out of my legs. These two exercises really work well together.

Hi All:
Today i did:
100 TBS
1.30 minute Charles Atlas Neck Bridge
Felt really good. Later I will add some TSPU on the WPT along with superman push ups on the WPT's and regular push ups (you guessed it) on the WPT's.
HAVE A GREAT DAY ALL

Hopeful, I am pulling for you big time, I myself am going to try to get to 500 tbs myself soon, I can do 320 straight now, so 500 is my longterm goal, YOU CAN DO IT. I m pulling for you, and I know you can do it, I will be checking out you workouts daily, keep up the good work.

Hey dynogoalie30!!! You can do 320 in a set! WOW!!! That is great!! I find TBS to be easier than tiger stretch push ups but that in no way belittles them. I find them to be a great cardio workout and leg muscle builder/ strengthener. I am honored you will be watching this thread. Please do.
Today I did:
125 TBS
1.06 minute Charles Atlas Neck Bridge
I found the first fifty TBS to be easy. The later were much more tough. Then around 100 I got my second wind but I was uncertain about how my muscles would take more than 125 so I stopped there. NEW PR 125 TBS!!!
Have a great day all!!!

Hey Hopeful,
I'm wondering if you continued doing TBS the next day after your PR of 125; for me a sudden jump in volume like that would leave my legs sore for days and constitute overtraining. I know these are hard to stay consistent with everyday but if you have been doing em non-stop congrats; otherwise, don't feel bad. I stopped the squats for a while and switched to swimming; my joints feel great and my movements feel more connected than ever before.

Hey Indigo:
Thanks for the interest. I stopped doing TBS for a while. Not because my legs got sore but because my interest wained. But that time off can be a good thing. I've found other avenues for my exercise although I am still primarily bodyweight. To be honest I have been thinking of starting towards my goal of 500 TBS a day again. So who knows. Perhaps tomorrow I'll try it again.
Thanks for the interest.

Well I am back at it.
Today i did:
2x12, 1x10 superman push ups
100 straight TBS
2 minute Charles Atlas Neck Bridge
I was surprised by the 100 TBS! But I did those in the morning and now my legs feel great. I can see the past several weeks I missed out on a fine cardio leg builder --the TBS. But I am right as a wrote before that the CANB (Charles Atlas Neck Bridge) is a great way for the legs to recoup after the TBS. The Superman Push Ups (SMPUS) I have been doing for some time and I find to be a great exercise.
Well here begins another walk up the mountain to the temple of 500 TBS a day!! And I am sure it will be a long walk.
Have a great day.

Hi All:
Today I did:
100 straight TBS in 2 minutes

In the TBS I slowed down a little when I reached the 70 mark. So that time can be improved upon. Let's see what tomorrow holds.

Hi All:
Today I did:
CIC's for the arms
50 TBS
2x25 Atlas III's
1 minute Charles Atlas Neck Bridge
I am going to try and stick to lesser numbers in my TBS and perhaps elsewhere, in the hopes that I will build consistency.

Hi All:
Today I did:
CIC's for the upper body. Plus an aerobic isometric the biceps blaster for 30 seconds.
That was all I could muster today. The weather and a broken tooth has me washed out. I must admit though as I admited many times before that I am adicted to isometrics. It is a real feel good exercise system. I am playing with expanding it even further. I do one position a day. Then after three days I might pull out the old IPB and do a full circuit all three positions for each exercise that particular day. Then on the next day start the CIC's again.
I hope that was helpful for some. I know writing my thoughts is helpful for me.
GOD BLESS

Hi All:
Once again all I had time for was CIC's and believe me those total a great workout.
Biceps holds and Triceps holds for ten seconds low position
Plus shoulder holds for ten seconds in the low position
biceps blaster for 30 seconds
Atlas III push holds for a minute fifty seconds total on that exercise
Tomorrow I might whip out the IPB because it will be the fourth day after three days of separate positions

Hi All:
Well surprise surprise my workout changed a little.
Today I did:
1.50 minute Atlas III's iso holds
-- that is total time
10, 12, 10 superman push ups
-- always love these and it looks like the love afair is continuing
35 second biceps blaster
2x25 Atlas III push ups
I have been doing this workout for the last several days and find it rewarding. The Atlas III's really hit the whole body either in iso form or dynamic movement. I have not given up on TBS and I still hold as a distant goal a 500 set. I am just adding slowly to this regime. The TBS I will add later.
