So for those of you who didnt read my previous post on Dustin Crawford AKA Icyhot.Ill give a quick recap.Icy is a local MMA fighter who has been on a huge losing streak since the beginning of his carrerr.0-12 to be exact.The kid suffers from alot of emotional and psychological problems and im sure they all stem from growing up in a very negative enviorment.A while back Icy contacted me via a local fight forum and expressed interest in training with me.So i hooked up with him and a month a ago he had his first fight back after a long layoff.
I gave him his pep talk and he was fired up and ready to go.Basicly i just told him to leave everything in the cage.Show your heart in there!And thats exactly what he did.He fought just as hard in the 3rd if not harder then he did in the first.He lost a split decision that i thought he won but either way it was a great night and everyone was real proud of him.In 11 previous fights he never even made it to a decision.
Now fast forward to last night.Right away when i met him at the venue i could tell it was going to be a good night.He was in high spirits,confidence was beaming.His opponet actually came out with a few moves i didnt even think he had so i was a little nervous right off the bat.But Icy hung tough and it went into the seacnond round.He was tired but when i looked over i could tell that his opponet was about to break.So i told him if you pore it on you will break him and get the W.And thats what he did.He won by 2nd round TKO due to strikes.The place went crazy.He was like a rock star last night actually having to turn down girls to hang out with other ones.:smile:
So last night was Icys lucky 13 and now hes 1-12.This kid epitomizes not giving up on yourself if you belive in something.Just thought id share.
