Hello everyone,
Last week, I received my much anticipated copy of Isometric Power Revolution (many thanks, John).
I've been reading it and going through the different classic contractions and powerflexes ever since.
I've got to tell you guys, before it arrived, I was "experimenting" with Isometrics - a little bit of this, a little bit of that, some from the videos on this site, some from other sources, and some from my own imagination.
I was pleased that at least a few of the contractions I'd been doing came close to mirroring the ones in the book - I'd "instinctively" figured them out months before finding this site, when my only idea of Isometrics didn't go much beyond pushing against a wall...it was when I started thinking that, surely, there must be more to getting fit than slugging dumbbells!
Yet, after reading, I realized how much my positioning was off. And, that I wasn't breathing correctly! I was also amazed at some of the obvious, yet highly effective positions that, while so logical, weren't apparent enough for me to figure out myself. I mean, maybe if I'd experimented relentlessly, but still...
Anyway, this isn't quite a review for the book, but a thank you, and an acknowledgment that there's even more to learn than I thought, something which I look forward to doing.
My muscles are surprisingly, and pleasantly sore today. More thoughts and questions to come...
Cheers,
Raphael
