As I type the Twin CIties Metronic Marathon has started. It is the most beautiful urban marathon in America. At 45 degrees with no rain it should be a good day. I pray for the many athletes who have trained hard to prepare their body and soul for this challenging race. It is my daughter's most challenging marathon. She has been running alot in combat boots so her feet are tough. Can she go the distance??? I think she can run 26.2 miles. As a rower and a runner she has prepared her body and soul for this challenge. My prayers go out to everyone to meet their goals and be injury free.
Digger, A special twinless twin is running too !!!!

P.S. Say a special prayer that I will be a GOOD SPORT at the Minnesota Viking vs Green Bay Packer Border Battle tomorrow night. GOOD LUCK LARRY!!!! I hope your team gets the flu OOPS (you better say a prayer now)

SHE DID IT!!! IN GOOD TIME AND SHE FEELS GREAT!!!.

I am at work so I didn't get to see it but her dad called me.

She wants to know if I have an extra #44 Brent Far shirt. So sweet of her to remember my favorite quarterback. We will always remember Brent!!!

Kottie,

Is that great or what?!!!!!! Tell her great job from me. Thats those tough Northern girls. Trust me, if the viking hold together all year I will be deeply shocked. Who knows miracles can happen. Be safe, your friend Larry. Stay in touch.

Hello Big Al and Welcome to the forum!!
My daughter had to run in combat boots a lot this summer as part of military training (officer's training). She ran the marathon in her own running shoes. Wisconsin National Guard members ran a marathon in their combat boots this year to commemorate the Bataan Death March.

Thanks Mike !!

Now Larry it was brutal game. I was run over by PAUL BUNYAN (Jared Allen) and his BLUE OXEN (Pat and Kevin Williams). While I was down and out I managed to tie the laces of some GIANT PINK SHOES. I think it was YOU KNOW WHO!!! We can't mention the F word here or in Wisconsin don't ya know. :shut-mouth::beat-up::foot-in-mouth:

Off to find a Twinkie Homer Hankie and a new Twinkie shirt !!!!

BTW

A" twinkie" in my neck of the woods refers to any member or fan of the Minnesota Twins Baseball Team. It is a word showing much fondness for the team. The Minnesota Twins have won the central division and it is tradition to wave a "Homer Hankie" in the playoffs.

It's ok to ask "Kottie WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT??"

I forgot to type that I was sitting by some great children from Wisconsin during the Minnesota Viking and Green Bay Packer Game. They and I were having a tough time coping with the game so we used imagery and imagined we were helping Aaron Rodgers. Needless to say we were creamed. So I was "playing with children" and not on hallucinogens. And the rest was influenced by the tough packer guys behind me. Does it make more sense now?? Any way it was great to see so many people on the border sticking with their Green Bay Packer team. As the kids say "It ain't easy being Green "!!!! I hope you enjoyed the game
