I have a friend that lives in a Jurisdiction that ban's handguns and he is hopefull the NRA will force Chicago and all other Jurisdictions that ban handguns into issuing licenses for honest citizens. He is allowed to own Black Powder Revolver's but not load or fire them inside the Jurisdiction, so they take the revolvers and Powder/caps seperately in the car, ie one item in the trunk seperated from the unloaded revolver; and fire them where it is legal. This is a Law that Criminals normaly just laugh at, only honest citizens obey it.
Long arms are legal where he resides and he owns reproduction Winchester Model 1892 Lever Action rifles, mostly in .357 Magnum, they sell 16", 20" and 24" barreled models and shotguns. Some of his friend's use semiauto 9mm, .40 and .45 carbines. A Gun Dealer told me that here in New York State (where magazines beyond 10 rounds are now banned for sale or possession, unless they pre-date the Law by Manufacture) that lever action are selling like hotcakes and the most demand rifle selling. That was a surprise that a design from pre-1900 is now hot.
