Found this link....and thought I'd bring it back. This was from the old, old forum.
These are tougher than they look, gang.
Try to do them EXACTLY as John has done them.
These are named after a wrestler in the 50's named Antonio or Argentina Rocca.
He wrote a fitness bokk about 40 years ago.
John does them perfectly correct. Hand placement is everything and you will feel it inthe angle of the legs to the hands, too.
Good luck!
(John .......hope you don't me posting these again....they are great)
Isorez,
Thanks for posting that. Rocca’s own words:
“Although this exercise falls with in the arm section, it is not only an arm exercise but involves the back, legs. and shoulders all in one. I call it the Grand-dad because I feel it is the most difficult movement for the body ever devised. Not one man in a hundred can do it the first time he tries, so don’t be discouraged if the Grand-dad seems impossible at first. Work hard on all the preceding exercised in the book, preparing yourself for a try at the Grand-dad.”
You must start and finish in the same position, knees in the opening created by your 2 hands. It’s tuff! And if you have any shoulder, triceps, or elbow injuries be very carful.

Great point GB! Watch the elbows. If you have tendonitis, these might irrtate them a lot!

Hey isorez,
Thank you so much for posting this. I have been wondering about how to do this for quite a while. Again thanks.

That pushup reminds me of Jack LaLannes chair pushup.

Hi isorez
I have had roccas course from the bronze bow website, when it was there.
The last time i did these i managed to do 100 reps in one set.
I find that these will help you build the legs, triceps and shoulders.
All in the best of health, talk to you soon.
KEITH JAMES.
Keith,
Wow 100 Rocca pushups! That’s incredible I never considered doing these in volume. Way to go.
I’m gong to have to think about this one, it’s a real shoulder builder. It hits me in the left triceps. I had a major tear to the left triceps several years ago during a sparing session. When you look at my arm it looks like something took a big chunk from the back. Took me over a year before I could straighten my arm out. When doing Roccas my left arm gives out. I did them just to say I can and impress a few young guys. I may try again and see just how far I can go.
