Yall know this was comming!

Just got my copy and all I can say is..WOW..the graphic are great! The book is very simple and straight to the point, and yet catches ones attention and far as the routine goes...man oh man ..John was not playing around when he said that was not going to be walk in the park!

1)So here is my question about the circuit, now like me, there might be some people who cannot do the reccomended numbers in the required time. Does that mean that we do as many reps as we can for the alloted time?

Example
Do as many Atlas Push ups in 1 minute and then move on to the next exercise?

2)Also, if I wanted to substitute Hindu Push ups in place of Atlas III, would the number of push up sets be the same? What about Altas 1 push ups, what the number sets be the same?

3)Would I be going to failure on these sets?

Thanks!!
Ali

EGAD! I think this is the first official GUTS question! John should send you a cigar!

For me, I've been following the time allotment and trying to increase reps. Today I did 201 Tiger Stretch Squats in the given time frame! First time I got just over 100.

For other exercises, do a little math. See how many AIIIs you can do in a minute, then see how many of the Hindu push-ups you can do in a minute. Divide the AIIIs by 50 (the GUTS goal) and multiply the other exercises by that number and you'll have you goal for your fitness level.

Okay... so let's keep it simple. The goal for AIIIs is 50 and let's say you can do 25 and you can do 35 Hindu Push-Ups. 50 divided by 25 is 2, then multiple 35 by 2 and you get 70. So you'd aim for 70 Hindu Push-Ups to be in the same fitness ballpark. That's how I'd to it, methinks.

Nope Joe. Give the man, er I mean cat a cigar! Wacky Baby figured out I was doing guts in some of the daily workouts I posted. I asked him not to let the cat out of the bag!

Yall r funny!!

Thanks Joe, but after doing G.U.T.S I think i might have to cut down on my cigar usage, if I wanna get any where near the elites.

Wow! 200 Hindu Push ups huh? That is REAL good Joe, did you mix in the Altas III push ups with your workout or did you just do the Hindu Push ups

Greg, my hats off to you for being able to do this whole program in the elite level, truly inspiring!

The cat is definitely out of the bag and I accept your cigar invitation!

Now Joe did 200 Hindu Push ups. He's a stud, I tell you, a stud!

I can't.

Wait... I did 200 Tiger Stretch (Hindu) Squats, not push-ups. I haven't been doing Hindu Push-Ups in my routine. I add in 1 minute of chinning at the beginning and just before the MILO too. The rest is standard GUTS, then some Power Ts and handbalancing

I probably could do 200 Tiger Stretch Push-Ups in around 20 minutes or so, though.

Hey gs300tx, I had the same question on the time issue, but you beat me too it. I was planning on using the time stated in for each exercise in the circuit and do GTG or Tabata to try and work up to the numbers given.

Have another question for you Mr Peterson. In the system you give a couple examples of warm-up exercises to use if needed. Any recommendations on the time to allot for these?

Thanks in advance, and thank you for another great product.

I know. Notice the judicious use of the word "Now." I woke up and couldn't resist the urge to start a hyperbolic frenzy for some reason.

Woke up feeling smart alecky. Luckily, Donna isn't on this thread to call me something meaner and more accurate.

My bad Joe, my dyslexia kicked in and for some reason I saw Hindu push ups. But hey 200 squats is pretty amazing too, you are almost at the elite level!!
