hey friends,

I received an e-mail from a man asking if G.U.T.S. would be a good workout for athletes during the "off season". I will let my friends his question.

But I will say this. Only a very well conditioned athlete will be able to complete G.U.T.S. in the specified time. No Brag, Just Fact.

Hi John,

It definitely is a good program for athletes 'off-season'but it brings up many questions. For instance,'what sport are you training for'?The answer will provide the other drills and skill set you want to keep active in the off season.
For instance,as strange as it sounds many football players don't have much contact in the off season. It is good to do fast hand drills and other bag work to keep contact going. This doesn't just come from me but conditioning coaches all the way to the pros.
Now what I have found over the years is that Football players also benefit from a steady diet of Hindu pushups and squats. The pushups are perfect for getting the arms in position for blocking and building the body. Now when you also add (maybe every other day-twice a week-once a week-or however you work it in-maybe once a day)G.U.T.S.This will give you a superior foundation which you can build upon with your other drills and skills for the respective sport you play.

I could go right down the list of each sport and praise the benefits of doing a steady diet of G.U.T.S but the seeing the above, you will see how it would apply as a foundation that you can build for your particular sport.

Hope this is helpful.I train athletes,so I have had many years of refining.

peace,
jason

As an aside, my neighbor's Grandson is Skip Schumacher of the St Louis Cardinals. I'm told he has already started offseason training with Mark McGwire
