Dear John and all Respectable Members…

My name is Johnny and I’m 31 years old…I Live in Lebanon…during my teen years I was physically very active, playing Soccer and Taekwondo…when I started my undergraduate studies and throughout my postgraduate degree I gained lots of weight due to the wrong lifestyle…I ate the wrong food, always skipped breakfast and consumed lots of junk food…I never dieted, but joined a gym for a couple of times, I quit each time due to the huge inconvenience, lack of time and lack of interest with the exercises I was doing….my aim was to be fit, strong and healthy, but I wasn’t interested in becoming the next incredible hulk!

Recently I became very uncomfortable with the way I looked and had no energy, and losing weight became a major concern as well as changing my lifestyle…I did lots of research and finally decided to follow the Mayo Clinic Healthy weight Pyramid, because I wanted sustainable results…my father joined in (61 years of age) for mutual support and we collectively lost 27 pounds in two months…each of us lost 13.25 pounds (6 kilos) without any physical activity…I currently weigh 216 pounds and my father weighs 202 pounds, we are both 5 foot 7…we have no chronic illness such as heart problems, diabetes or blood pressure.

Then I started to research ways to keep the weight off and to tone my body through exercise and physical activity outside the gym because I had no time because of my work, I am an equity trader and am nailed in front of the computer around 12 hours a day…I used Amazon to search for fitness books, and I stumbled on JOHN PETERSON’s books by chance…I read every review and visited the website and read all the book reviews, but what gave me the answer that I was looking for was a review on Amazon by Greg Newton.

“If you think the champion bodybuilders of the sixties and seventies were drug free and that the ideal place to workout is your neighborhood fitness factory, this book is not for you. If you are a die hard iron head, who has yet to suffer from the "busted up weightlifter syndrome," this book is not for you. If you are looking for another exercise trend to follow without putting some grit and effort into what you are doing, this book is not for you.

If you're interested in health, strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, and the physique of a Greek statue, this book is for you. If you are interested in physical culture history, this book is for you. If you have had debilitating injuries from weight training and want to turn back the clock, this book is for you.

A year and a half later, I weigh less, look more like a bodybuilder than when I lifted weights, am more flexible, am more coordinated, am faster, have more endurance, and am much stronger. Does that mean I can lift more weights in the gym? I don't know and don't care. What it does mean is that I am stronger in the areas of life that really count, like walking (or running) up a steep incline without getting winded, being able to manhandle a heavy piece of furniture, or hoisting a load onto my shoulder to carry it.”

I ordered the following books from Bronze Bow Publishing, and they were shipped today:
• Pushing Yourself to Power (Spiral Edition)
• Isometric Power Revolution (Spiral Edition)
• The Miracle Seven (Spiral Edition)
• G.U.T.S.—The Ultimate 24/7 Body Sculpting Training System (Spiral Edition)

I was wondering if anyone can help me with what to start reading first and if these books/exercises are suitable for my father as well…I wanted to get a heads up through the forum before my books arrived…
I AM VERY EXCITED!!!

Thank you all for reading, I welcome and thank anyone who’s willing to help me and give me advice.

All the best,

Johnny.

Hello Johnny,

I'm excited to have you with us. I know that your product has shipped to you and I will be anxious to read your feedback. As far as which books to read first, I will let some of my friends address that issue from their own perspective. But let me say that Pushing Yourself To Power is a great place to start because it explains the different modes of exercise that ewe teach and endorse. But if you're dedicated and serious about getting in awesome shape then read G.U.T.S. because that book will show you the kind of strength and conditioning that you will eventually have. Bottom line: Johnny, if you apply yourself you will become the master of your own destiny and you will be in awesome shape requiring nothing outside of yourself, your knowledge, and your motivation to be in awesome shape 24/7. My books will show you the way and point you in the right direction. YOU will do the rest.

Hey Johnny,
Welcome to the forum! I know you will be happy with your purchase, I know I was. As far as where to start, I would have to go with Pushing Yourself To Power, I have probably read that book 6 times and every time I go back I learn something new.

Pushing Yourself To Power will set the foundation for all other exercises, I would say stick with that for around 3 months and then incorporate what is contained in Isometric Power Revolution.

Once you have a year under your belt you will be able to customize your own plan and believe me, if you can stick with just the basic exercises taught here, I think you will be more than ready for GUTS.

Good luck

Ali

Hi Johnny: In your case, I'd recommend you start with John's book, The Miracle Seven. John writes great books, his PYTP is maybe the best Atlas type Course. The Miracle Seven exercises will get you started so you can do more advanced exercises, John's books are all great but I like the utter simplicity and perfection that the M7 book is. It is the one book you need if stranded on a desert island, John is a gifted writer but the M7 is just the best of the best.

In PYTP you can find the Seven Tiger moves in Chapter 3, the DVR Rounntine contains 12 exercises, one could call them the Miracle 12 and they are a miracle. Once you have completed 2 or 3 months of the M7 or the DVR Routine from PYTP then you can move on to John's other courses.

All the best to you and your father.

first off welcome
second you have already takes the right step and found the right tools to not only keep the weight off but gain more muscle and lose more body fat faster then you ever thought possibly.

personally i started with Pushing Your Self To Power after i broke my neck in two places. and let me tell you the info i gfot in that book on diet and the common sence approach to over all fitness was amazing. no beach muscles here. every bit of muscle i have works and better then one might think. im stronger and more agile, leaner and feel more healthy than i ever had. and whats best of all you can do it right there at your work station. mo special equipment required just a strong will and determined heart and you will achieve the body of your dreams.

and this program is absolutely safe for your dad. id get him a doctor go ahead first of course. but its virtually impossible to hurt your self. theres no heavy steel ready to fall and crush you, theres no impact at all. and in Pushing Your Self To Power john teaches warmup exercises to get the blood flowing. what you will soon be holding in your hand is the single most effective weapon in the war on terribly out of shape people the world has ever seen. if you use it effictively you will reap great rewards.

im exited for you stay motivated and keep driving forward and youll see great gains my friend.

It's wise for deconditioned folks to monitor their heart rate when they 'push themselves to power' ; you can jettison the monitor once you are more experienced with the methods here
