John,

Would you demonstrate the basic exercises with the isometric powerbelt as you have with the M7 on a video? I want to see how efficiently such exercises as: rowing, bench press, military press, squat etc.. can be performed before I purchase it.

How do isometrics compare to DVR & VRT? Are they superior in any way;or,just interechangeable?

Hey fIrefox,

Performing fixed position Isometrics on a DVD does not make sense to me. For that reason I think you should pass on purchasing an Isometric Power Belt. And as far as superiority that you like to ask about between various methods, it's like this. The single, best, toughest and most result producing form of strength building is true Isometric Contraction. Nothing is as intense, difficult or hard to do. It builds the body from the inside out. Joints, Ligaments, Tendons and Muscles.

DVR/VRT is a fantastic technique for building muscular strength and sculpting the muscles without subjecting the Muscles, Joints,, Ligaments, or Tendons to the wear and tear caused by extreme gravity. Granted, with DVR/VRT you'll never have busted up joints, a compressed lower spine or torn rotator cuffs that will allow you to sit around like some lounge lizard bragging about how much you used to be able to bench, but hey there is a price for everything.

It all depends on what your objective is.

Get Isometiric Power Revolution , it's a great book. It covers isometrics from all "angles" - you get history, excellent illustrations and explanations of how to do the exercises and best of all you get motivated to do them.

Lastly, the section on powerflexes is worth the price of admission alone.

I strongly believe that the leverage gained from a belt is a superior way of performing isometrics & isotonics(DSRs).
Experiment with any ol' belt or rope for a firsthand experience. JP's belt further enhances your isometric & isotonic options. One of my favs is HAND FREE squats(other isocisors often are limited by your hand strength)
