Hi everyone,
Great posts. Seems like John has got the pulse of those of us who use this type of training. I have certainly found this programme to be challanging. i have been doing this routine for 2 weks now. In the first week i trained 4x and in the second 5x. Have just completed my first my second week i think i will attempt to stay at 5x a week for the remainder of the twelve week challange i have set myself.
Wk 1
Push ups: 50 At the end of the week 50
Sit ups: 61 61
TBS: 300 300
Sit ups: 59 59
push ups: 31 31
Milo: 20/15 20/15
Wk 2
Push ups: 50 At the end of the week 50
Sit ups: 60 54
TBS: 310 310
Sit ups: 59 61
Push ups: 35 45
Milo: 20/15 20/15
It has been a tough 2 weeks and the figures seem strange, but i am progressing. Looking forward to what week 3 will bring.

Well i have managed to get to the end of week 3. Could only fit 4 sessions in this week. The numbers are:
A PU 111 50 end of the week 50
A SUps 52 60
TBS 320 330
A SUps 59 64
A PU 45 46
I would like to say that i had made steady progress but the truth is the numbers fluctuate. This is one tough routine and these early stages are more about training the mind and the application of will power. The squates, although tough, are getting a little more managable, which surprises me. And i really dont get why i always do better on my second set of sit ups?

well, its the end of week 4 and i am getting into my stride. its still by no means easy, more of a mind game when it comes to the squates, 300+ reps is a long way! anyhow here's my tally for this week:
Push ups: 50 At the end of the week 50
Sit ups: 59 70
TBS: 330 330
Sit ups: 61 64
push ups: 47 48
Milo: 20/15 20/15
I enter week 5 hoping to achieve 50 reps in the push ups. But i have learnt that the body responds in different ways to the demands placed upon it, you just never know where you might improve. But the bottom line is that on this training programme i am improving.

I have now reached the end of week 5. its been a tough week in that i have been unwell and have only managed to put in 3 workouts this week. The amazing thing is that after i completed my workout today i felt and still feel really really good. my energy levels are high and i feel very positive.
As you will see my sit up numbers have suffered a bit this week but my TBS are progressing nicely. I am completely blown away by my improvements in the TBS, i put this down to John setting a target for me to aim at. Truth is i really dont know what i am capable of, i tend to think what i cant do rather than what i can and targets to aim for have a way helping me think bigger things. Anyhow, below are my numbers for this week.
Atlass111: 50 at the end of the week 50
Atlas SU: 50 64
TBS: 330 340
Atlas SU: 70 69
Atlas 111: 48 48
Milo 15/20

Well, here are my numbers for the end of the 6th week on GUTS
At 111: 50 at the end of the week 50
At SU: 66..................................67
TBS: 340.................................350
At SU: 77...................................69
At111: 50...................................50
Milo 20/15..................................20/15
I am very happy with the way the squates are coming along, should reach the target 360 next week and then i just have to hold it there!!. Push ups are hard and the final 50 rep set is very hard from 30 reps onwards. Still struggeling to maintain a steady pace with the sit ups, but i guess it will happen one day. Role on week 7.

Its the end of week 7 and these are my numbers.
Atlas 111: 50 at the end of the week 50
Sit ups: 66
.75
TBS: 350
360
Sit ups: 75
..77
Atlas 111: 50
....50
Milo: 20/15.
Although the routine is hard it is getting much more comfortable in that my body is adjusting to the workload placed upon it. I am pleased with the way my sit ups are finally responding, although it is slow work. I am managing to keep within the time constraints; however, my squats do go over by about 30/45 secs. I am resisting doing any other routine as I want to establish this AS my true foundational routine and for that to happen I need to give it my full attention. Foundations take time to establish.
Have a Good Christmas everybody and a happy new year.

Thanks Joe. What 300 dollars? i have obviously missed something! To be frank anyone who gives themselves the time and applies consistant discipline will be a winner on this routine; i certainly feel that way. Having said that 300 would be nice!!

I have now reached to the end of week 10. Just another two weeks to my initial goal of 3mths on the GUTS routine. I am a lot fitter but it seems I still end the routine in a heavy sweat, and I have been training outside in temperatures of at or below freezing for the last few weeks! Anyhow here are my numbers for last week:
Atlas111 50
.at the end of the week
................50
Atlas SU: 85
...
..90
TBA 300
...360
Atlas SU 90
....
.
95
Atlas111 50
...
.
.50
..Milo 20/15
..
I am a couple of days into week 11 now and things are going well. My sit ups have really started to respond and I am going up in numbers fairly easily at the moment.
Not sure what I am going to do when I have completed the initial 3mth course. I will keep GUTS as my foundation whatever I do. It is kind of addictive and even so I have worked very hard to achieve this level of fitness and I am not going to simply let it go.
