Hi all,
long time no post.
I consider VRT more of a bodybuilding method due to the specificity required especially for complex moves but I have to say that I'm impressed with the strength gains in my shoulders.
Yesterday I tried full ROM handstand push ups for the first time after very long time.Three years ago I was able to do 2-3 reps and now I did 7 reps and I'm 20 pounds heavier. Here's the vid in case someone wants to see it:

Douglis,
REALLY impressive!! Even without the three year layoff that's really impressive! I STILL can't get a full ROM handstand push-up, I think it's probably the most impressive Power Calisthenic.
What's your typical shoulder routine like?

I've been concentrating on doing the M7 and I definately notice my shoulders getting more defined. Seems like many of the M7 exercises tend to focus on the shoulders and for me I know it is a lot easier to contract these harder than others. The back muscles tend to be the most difficult for me to contract while still maintaning contractions in the arms and shoulders. It amazes me how much DVR/M7 improves your muscles. This morning I did very high tension (5 reps after 5 warmup reps) of each exercise and by the time I was done I was breathing very hard, sweating and felt like I'd been in the gym for an hour, but only did a 10 minute M7 session. Gotta love it!!
But Douglis, great video, and I know you are a devotee of mostly DVR exercises so great to see the positive affect they have on the human body. I'm looking forward to when I can perform these too!! Keep up the great work.

douglis great video and progress. I see VRT as a Bodybuilding and a strength program; jonlclay the M7 and VRT are naturals that work together very well! Must admit I like the VRT pump, but also love the M7 results.

Thanks guys.
I don't think 7 full ROM HSPU are really impressive. There're dozens of vids in the youtube. What I think is impressive is that I was able to do them without practice them.
Joe,for my shoulders I only do 2-3 sets of VRT shoulders press twice a week but I believe every back VRT exercise trains very well as antagonists muscles.

douglis, That is the really impressive thing about this type of exercise. It builds a flexible strength and a mind/ body control that allows you to do a wide variety of activites that you haven't specifically trained for. Gordon

douglis, don't sell yourself short, brother. YouTube is a world wide phenomenon. There's people on there doing summersaults, backflips and all kinds of acrobatic stuff, but that doesn't mean that it isn't impressive.

Joe, To me the really impressive thing that douglis did was to improve his specificity at doing handstand pushups without specifically practicing handstand pushups. That to me is the really phenominal thing about this science. You are developing the mind, emotions, and body and you are developing them from wtihin -with your mind. You are using the strongest and least undestood part of they mind- your imagination. As Albert Einstein said," “The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination.” That same creative use of our imagination and control that we use to develop our bodies and physical strength using VRT,DVR. Isometrics and Isometric Power Flexing is also developing internal mind and body controls that can express themselves in numerous other life situtations or activities. On this forum there have been numerous illustrations of people using this science and discovering other abilites that have been created in the process. This is powerful stuff. Gordon

Douglis, I want to personally thank you for putting up your progress and results, for once again it proves this system can increase strength, size and endurance, without using any equipment whatsoever.
It's people like you who post your results of progress with VRT that helps the skeptics to finally "get it" that this system is NOT a bunch of BS and is only some kind of a toning exercise. In the beginning there was an "experiment of one," when I took this regimen on after giving it a name, and creating a course; and that was long ago, without camcorders and the internet. Some have said it may increase some size, but no strength; some have said endurance in some areas, but no strength and no size, just toning and possibly shaping. You, in past posts, have given it a plus in all 3 areas. This thread is to all who say this stuff doesn't work.
Best Regards,
