Okay, I hate counting AND fiddling with a stopwatch.
Step 1: Get rid of the watch.
I mixed 25 continuous minutes of the Mortal Kombat theme music. (get it? "Flawless Victory") Place pitch-deepened, reverbed voice overs at the appropriate times. "Pushups...BEGIN!" and "Milo...FINISH IT!" and like so. No stop watch needed, I can focus on the count.
Step 2: Convert my routine to G.U.T.S.
Now I have posted before that I do 200 Atlas I pushups in my morning routine, broken up with 20 minutes of squats done aerobically. So I am ready to hit the G.U.T.S. running right?
Step 3: Reality Check
Hint for anyone hovering just under 200 lbs. 200 Atlas I's in the course of a 30 minute routine do NOT translate into 50 Atlas III's in one set.
Step 4: Get over it.
I am still hammering on this program. It really highlights where I have room to grow, and as sore as I am, I am going to stick with this and give it the 90 day focus John suggests in the front of the book.
Monday:
Atlas III PU - 14
Atlas Situp - 0 (well they turned out to be 36 crunches, but they were not the full situp)
Tiger Bend Squat 312
Atlas Situp - 0 (yeah, still more crunchy than situpy)
Atlas III PU - 9 (Shakey and not in one continuous go)
The Milo - 10 high tension per side, though this does take me the full four minutes.
Tuesday:
Atlas III PU - 10 (Decided not to be a freakin' hero)
Atlas Situp - 0
Tiger Bend Squat 300 (I just stopped at 300 until I get used to doing them this fast)
Atlas Situp - 0
Atlas III PU - 10
The Milo - 10 high tension per side
Wednesday:
Atlas I PU - 40 (These felt sooooo much better than the III's)
Atlas Situp - 0
Tiger Bend Squat 300
Atlas Situp - 0
Atlas I PU - 40
The Milo - 10 high tension per side
Okay I will move back to Atlas III's tomorrow but I needed an ego boost. LOL
How do I get from pathetic crunch to full Atlas situp??
