Something i like to do before a fight.Kind of a test to let me know where my muscular endurance is prior to the fight is hit my dice workout atleast once a week.1 hour straight no breaks working as fast and hard as i can. What is the dice workout you might ask.I got a set of these specially made calistenic dice when i ordered Lloyd Irvins NHB book.It is 3 dice all different colors. There all six sided. One has 6 exercises labeled on them pushups, dips, squats, lunges, crunches, leg lifts. One is labeled 5,6,7,8,9,10 and the last one is just a regular 6 side dice. You roll all three dice multiply the number dice and do that exercise for that many reps.I mix in different exercises such as pullups instead of dips or burpees instead of squats.Theres way to rest within the workout by doing easier exercises or going at an easier pace.

Now this workout does not simulate exactly the physical requirements of my sport becase the nature of the sport requires extremly hard work in a relativly short amount of time usually a maximum of 25 minutes of work broken into rounds. But what i do this for is for the mental aspect as well as the physical. If i can just keep cranking out power cals for 1 hour straight despite fatigue, lactic acid build up then i know my mind is prepared to overcome the voices in your head telling you to quit. Now you could very easily just do random power cals mixing them in however you like, but the dice just helps keep things interesting.Just thought id share one of the many routines i use to get ready for MMA competition.

Fascinating info, Black Knight. MMA is a whole different world from the one I live in. It's cool to get some insight into it. And the dice method brings up possibilities of other ways to choose workout components.

Thanks for sharing!
