On the "How to Integrate TRANSFORMETRICS into your Life" chart (Pg. 36 in new workbook)...

Getting ready to start the 10 week start up program and noticed that there wasn't a shaded block for Lesson #3, Unlimited Energy.

Can someone tell me when that is to be introduced? I read the book a few weeks ago, and briefly scanned the content to see if it was in the text, but figured the forum would be able to tell me more easily :)

Thanks in advance,
Dave

I don't have the book in front of me, but if memory serves that chapter is designed for folks who are too weak or to obese to handle the calisthenics.

Dave,

welcome to the forum. Joe is correct, in stating that lesson 3 is for those too weak or too obese to start with the full program. However, that lesson is all DVR, and a good way to warm up if you use light tension. Also ideal to start the day. Good luck with the lessons, and keep us posted of your progress.

Ok...that makes sense...there is a section in that lesson which says Exercise program for the weak and obese...but the exercises looked like the Miracle 7 so I didn't want to miss anything.

Of course since I bought M7, PYTP, PoP, IsoPRev & GUTS all at once, I am getting confused :)

Thanks for the help,
Dave

Dave,

actually, lesson 3 is the M7's with some additional exercises for biceps, triceps and calves. Even if you would just stick to that lesson, you would find some great results on muscle, strength and stamina development.
I can understand that having ALL books at once, it gets rather confusing. Stick to one book at a time, adding the others in due time.

Thanks Jan...

I had been doing the P90X and their other programs but they are really just bootcamps for a few months...it really isn't something you can sustain via lifestyle. I just didn't want to invest 75 minutes 6 days a week and feel beat up...

After some research I fell upon this site and the products and after consulting with my doctor, he thought these programs would be something I could do for a lifetime. I am 47 and so Plyometrics/weight training and all that stressful exercise was not a recipe for success. Coincidently, I had the priviledge to speak with JP on the phone and he basically said the same exact information that my doctor provided.

I started GUTS this morning for my first day..
Pushups 55
Situps 37 (yikes!)
Hindu Squats (255)
Situps 40 (again yikes!)
Pushups 52

I guess my core is a little weak ;) I may do a modified GUTS program where I start and end with Pullups. So I would do Pullups, Pushups, Situps, Squats, Situps, Pushups, and lastly Pullups. On the pullups, I would just hang for rest or to finish the minute if I am tuckered out.

I will be doing GUTS in the morning and then in the afternoon doing as you recommend one of the books. I REALLY want to be able to do Handstand pushups this summer so I will probably start with PYTP with some of the Balance of Power stuff. THAT is my 100% goal...Handstand Pushups! And I will do it!

Cheers!

Hey Buscema,

Nothing to be confused by. G.U.T.S. was written for the men that kept asking me, "John, how do I measure my strength and fitness when following your methods? How do I know that I'm in fantastic shape and not deluding myself into just thinking I am? People wanted a means of measurement and G.U.T.S. is that means of measurement. Once you have mastered G.U.T.S. at the elite level you can revisit all the exercises in my previous books with a far greater appreciation for the mind/muscle techniques that they provide and apply them with far greater intensity and benefit. In other words, if you have a problem understanding my methods, G.U.T.S. will remove the blinders. Let me also state Dave, that it would be impossible for you or any other man to complete G.U.T.S. at the Elite level and not be in fantastic shape across the board.

One other thing. Before starting G.U.T.S. take your picture and test yourself on Pull-Ups. Then after you have achieved the Elite level take your pictures once again and then test yourself on Push-Ups. You'll notice two things. Your physique at that point will be it's all time leanest and hardest and most aesthetically developed, You will have tireless legs and lungs, and even though you have not practiced Pull-Ups you will have easily doubled and in some cases tripled your Pull-Up maximum without even training at them. This is because G.U.T.S. also has the greatest carry over of functional athletic strength and fitness of any program in existence. It requires just 24 minutes maximum and is the ultimate foundation upon which to add anything else you would like to master or specialize on.
