Our good friend and long time forum member hollyweed88 needs out prayers. He just had a heart test on friday and had a stent put into his heart. The Doctors told him that in the last three years he has lost 75% of his heart due to diabetes; he has been under treatment for it and thought it was under control. Your prayers could help him.

If anyone has knowledge or something he can do to help; he asks would you please post it.

Ron hates to walk; I recommended he try deep breathing as an alternative and recommended a couple books on breathing. I just hope it can help Ron. God bless hollyweed, his family and you all.

Here is what hollyweed88 posted in another thread, for your information.

"I am grateful to all who have said prayers for me. I had shortness of breath that when I walked from the kitchen to the family room, I was gasping for breath. I can not shower without stopping to catch my breath.
It was determined I had a blocked artery. They went in and used a balloon to open it up, and left a stent to keep it open.
I was then informed that my 3 year diabetes had damaged 75 percent of my heart. That was a shocker. I have never had to take insulin only pills. I have been praised by my doc for keeping my sugar numbers good. My A1C I have kept under 7. So I am at a loss as to why this could happen.
If anyone has ideas how to repair a damaged heart muscle, please feel free to let me know.
Oh yes, I still am very short of breath. I am congested and have not had time to heal. So I hope that I get a little better.
Thanks for reading."

Hollyweed & his family are in my thoughts & prayers also.

My Father had a stent put in his heart 6-7 years ago & has just arrived back in town from vacation. When I see him next, I will ask him what he has done to prevent further heart damage. I know that he is now on a cholesterol lowering drug, trains most days & has a Bruce Lee ripped to the bone physique at 63 years young. Even though Dad has not had diabetes, I'm sure that his lifestyle choices will be of benefit to Ron.

Take care,
Steve

Hey man,

You're in my thoughts!

And as for the heart, I say this, not as a professional, but from what I have read - cayenne pepper is supposed to be one of the healthiest things you can feed your heart with. (If John or anyone with more educated experience wants to have a say on it, I'd appreciate it). It could be worth a reading up on and trying if you wish.

I hope the best for you.

My prayers are with you, Hollyweed.

In regard to healthy heart supplements, please take CoEnzyme Q10. (CoQ10). For congestive heart failure, take at least 200 mg. per day. Cayenne pepper or tobasco sauce helps greatly to lower blood pressure, and so do garlic and celery too---they will definitely help you. Other supplements mentioned in heart health literature that help the heart is the amino acid L-Arginine, 4 to 6 grams a day, and magnesium and zinc supplements. And please, please continue with long, deep breathing, exhaling two to three times as long as you take to inhale. I hope all of this will help you.

Mike,

1. In what part of the country/world does Hollyweed live? Near a major city or a university medical center? Some places have specialists who are much better with certain conditions than others.

2. What has his current doctor told him to do to help himself as much as possible. Did the doctor recommend walking?

3. Even though Ron "hates to walk," this might be one of those times when doing something he does not enjoy is one of the things he needs to do. That won't solve the whole problem, but Hollyweed's email says he hopes to get a "little" better. This might be one way to do it.

Mike, we appreciate your helping in keeping us in contact with Hollyweed. He will be in my thoughts.

- Hank

The book Anticancer is a valuable resource for many diseases(me thinks); it even includes meditation & the power of prayer as helpful adjuncts to conventional medical interventions
