The whole world economy has been pumped with economic steroids- credit. We are now in the process of going back to reality. It will take time and there will be pain,but the world will adjust and go on. Don't forget that even with this crisis the US Econoimy is still ranked #1 in the world and the dollar is strengthening. Hang in there and develop your NERVE FORCE. The strongest and the most aggressive individuals will proper. Make sure that you are in the winning group.

Think yin/yang
I've been reigning aggressive investing; I''m building some CASH for the yet undetermined right re-entry point.
Meanwhile, I'm going "Roman" on my Heavybag since I don't have a wife or dog to kick.

Hey Andy62,
Your post and analogy of "Economic Steroids" was spot on. So was your reminder that the US is still the strongest world economy. The good news is that the crisis has been recognized, now all that is necessary is to treat the disease itself and not cause an even worse one by treating it the wrong way. That I'm sure, is much easier said than done.

I think the USA and the World will be in recession soon. The Credit Crisis is affecting the economy, and growth in Asia will see a downturn. The Credit Crisis has hit the Stock Markets of the World and recovery will be slow. Liquidity has been restarted but the problem with will be in Car Loans and in Creditcard Debit. Wall Street packaged these products too and is unwinding. Bad Car Loans and extensive credit card debt will be the next shoes to drop.

He can afford it,but then everybody is down now and probably will be for sometime. We all have to play for the recovery whenever that is and at whatever level things stabilize at.

The current events are are reminder of not being a"prisoner of positive thinking": hope for the best & prepare for the worst

Positive Thinking must be based on accurate thinking. Napoleon Hill, one of the fathers of positive thinking, said that one of the principles positive thinking was accurate thinking. When Allen Greenspan, the former Fed Chairman who was at the controls while much of this was developing, says that he is "surprised" by the extent of what is happening and that "his formula" was off we know that even the so called experts have no idea of what was or is going on. The world has changed and the old "analyze the past"- quantitave approach to economics just doesn't work any more. Random events happen that can not be forseen in advance or controlled. The correct approach is to wait out the storm and then develop your plan to deal with things as they are then. Positive thinking does work and if you look at any devastating event in history from wars ,to famines, to economic depressions, to plagues to various natural tragedies, some people always survive and adapt to the changed world and prosper in it. As Alois P. Swoboda said, " the creator put in all of us the ability to survive and evolve" we just have to develop those abilities which are lying dormant in all of us. Positive thinking in difficult situations requires us to develop our NERVE FORCE and use it.

Perhaps we can agree that positive thinking USUALLY works; I believe that one's application of sound orinciples( positive thinking, DVRs) may be flawed;

Someone always wins in every situation, and positive thinking can lead to winning. In the Great Depression my dad owned a new Cadilliac sedan for church and weekends, a Buick sedan for the weekdays and had a old Ford Model A for hunting and driving where we'd take a jeep. People always make out no matter what.
There is always a way to win.

All I can say is that Positive Thinking combined with DVR/VRT, Isometrics and isometric Power Flexing have really worked for me over the years. I find that even in a crisis I don't react with negative emotions so that I can rationally re-evaluate the situation and come back with another try. Not only have I found that it works,but it keeps life exciting and makes it fun.

There may be always a way to win but finding the winning way(s) can be daunting . I have a cousin with advanced brain cancer & I hope he finds a winning way; living a full life 'til death is a "winning way".

Life can be tough and no one is denying that fact. Terminal illness and death of those close to us is just a fact of life that all of us must face. In such situations exploring all of the treatment options and providing hope is all that we can do. Whatever individual outcomes may be we must all go on after facing such inevitable situations and fulfill our destiny by living out the rest of our lives to the fullest. Even as we face tragedies with those close to us we can draw strength from even the most difficult of situations and project such strength to others around us and in that way draw positive results from even the most tragic of individual of situations.
