I know most here are very health conscious and so thought i'd pose this question, especially with swimming season not too far away. What do you think about swimming (or doing other exercises) in a chlorinated pool day after day, in terms of long-term health? I mean certainly it plays havoc on clothing and on hair. And of course you may accidentally swallow some small amounts of water during the workouts. But is it a big deal? Is it something to legitimately worry about or something to worry about only if you're a hypochondriac (like me, lol)?

The first and the last one on that list especially concern me. Recently an older relative of mine passed away from cancer and he was a swim-aholic. He wasn't that old and i wonder if the chlorine may have contributed to his cancer.

I have heard that showering (and leaving your hait/skin wet) before you get into a pool can help with chlorine.
