The last two mornings, I’ve FINALLY been able to use the new version of the Isometric Power Belt. Already, I’m seeing that this version is a LOT easier for someone with smaller hands to use. It’s very easy for me to grab onto. Now, I just have to get my isometric contractions down :)
I do have an isometric question though, particularly for those who do ISO’s throughout the day.
What protocol do you use??
John’s recommendation of one contraction at one of three angles per day is stuck in my head.
So, do you do a more intense/formal ISO workout at any one point of the day, and throw in various contractions of lesser intensity throughout the day?

Hi Rob,
The Isometric Power Belt is perfect for times like what you've been going through; in other words, high stress and little sleep.
My personal take is to do all three positions in the same workout, which necessitates limiting the number of exercises. I also do my contractions over three slow and deep breathes. The last exhale is the one I try to get maximum contraction. I build up the tension over the other two. Also, if I do more than one isometric workout during the day, I feel like I am over training.
This is what I do. I want say it is better or worse than any other way of using the belt. It seems to work for me. BUT, experiment around. That is one of the things I find so appealling about this style of training. You aren't constrained to X,Y, and Z. You play with it to find what works best for you, and sometimes that will change over time and conditions. The belt to me, is a lot of fun to use, and afterwards you feel energized. There are no weights or machines to put up or fold. All you have to do is roll it up and put it away.

Hey, is there a NEW belt? I have the green one. I did see where they now have blue and red but I just thought it was the same belt just a different color.

Whew. I'm 100% satisfied with my new blue IPB. But, for a second there, I thought I had missed something.
From Joe's response, I believe I'm correct when I say there are only three versions of the Isometric Power Belt. There is the original black version, and the blue and red versions both of which are just slightly narrower and possibly thinner than the original. There is no green IPB.

If Doug has a green one, it's because he dumped bleach or something on the original black Isometric Power Belt.
The new red/blue models are also a bit softer. In general they're just easier on the hands.

Well I know it must be crazy but my wife and I both say it is green. If someone will tell me how to post a pic, I would be happy to. I bought it from the transformetrics store, John please come to my defense on this one.

Hey Doug,
I've never actually offered my Isometric Power Belt in Green. But I did receive a few Green ones when my supplier ran out of the exact same material in Black so that would explain why you have a Green one.
Now here's my input for my Black Belt friend Rob. Greg has offered you great advice. I personally think that every person must test out the variables of both intensity and duration to know for sure what works best for them. Also note that you can easily mix up duration and intensity from day to day. I am personally integrating more and more Isometrics into my training after a short session of joint mobility each morning. In my opinion, Isometrics combined with G.U.T.S. offers me the best and most advantageous way to train to train for superior health, strength, and conditioning long term because the combination protects Joints, tendons, and ligaments as well as decompresses the spine.

and I'm not going crazy. :alien:
You should probably ask your family about that. Usually the victim is the last to know in that situation.

I'm still deciding which color to get. Actually I'm saving up. I'll probably get blue. They sure sound like the deal though.

O.K.
I've been laughing over this one. But, to apply a coin collecting analogy, those who have the green belts, hang on to them. They will be a collectors item one day.:desire:
