Hello everyone, for the last 27 yrs. on thanksgiving day me and my friends that I grew up with in my home town have our annual Generation Bowl, flag football game. This year really impressed me with 4 of my friends, who all cleaned up their diets, and included brisk walking at least 5 days a week for 45min- 1hr. they said they did not think to much of walking, but after a few weeks of walking they really enjoyed it, not just the results they are getting but the great feeling theyget after the walk, one firend of mine lost 55lbs. in the last yr. I was reallyproud of them and I am talking them into throwing in some push-ups into their programs. i told them that I also walk, and that the great feeling I get after walking is like therapy, I was impressed with their effort, and even one friend of mine even wears rain gear if it is raining, to get his walk in. I guess it goes to show that diet and brisk walking together are a great combo.

How many steps in a mile?

One mile is equal to 5280 feet. Most people say it takes about 2000 steps for every mile. Of course everyone's stride is different. An average stride is usually somewhere between 2 and 3 feet in length. So on average it takes between 1760 and 2640 steps to complete one mile.
