Hey John,

I receive the “Daily Transformation” Email and enjoy reading it every time! But to be honest, your last Email about “Roman Chair Sit-Ups” discouraged me somehow:

If I comprehend your Email to its full extend (I’m not a native speaker) then you perform 400+ sit-ups per day (!) in addition to several other push-ups, pull-ups, DVRs, DSRs etc. First of all, my deepest respect and admiration to everyone who masters a challenging workout like that – every day! I would not call myself “completely out of shape” since I’m 34 years old, 6’ feet high and my weight is 176 pounds. I do running (for fun, about 3 miles, twice a week), practice Ju-Jutsu and workout with the Transformetrics system three times a week, trying to fit in at least the M7 exercises daily – BUT:

The number of repetitions you mentioned are – viewed from my physical level – at the “other end of the universe”! I admit this without envy but with honest admiration. I am glad (and exhausted!) after I did two sets of 15 chin-ups, 30 push-ups and maybe – on a good day – 40 sit-ups AT ALL! In order to get somewhere near the number of repetitions you do, it would take me at least several sets with rest periods in between, spending the hole day on it (which I would like to try some time but as a family father and employee – no way! :act-up:)!

I have thoroughly read what you wrote about “numbers” in PYTP and your friends Dr. Scot Cressman and Troy Johnsen but I still have a question: Do you think it is possible to achieve the greatest (personal) shape even with comparatively low numbers of repetitions or do I risk to stick to (again: personal) mediocrity the next 30+ years if I don’t manage to increase the number of repetitions considerably one day? And, if you are willing to share this information with us, how long does it take you to finish your daily sit-up routine?

Of course, all comments of the forum members to my thoughts are very welcome to me, too!

Thanks a lot, best regards,
Rene
