Hi,

As some of you know, I'm recovering from recent surgeries. The most recent being emergency, necessary to save my life. Even then, they could have lost me on the table.

I was discharged from hospital 10 November 13 kgs lighter. In the last week I have started training, mainly doing DVRs & Powerflexing & have gained 5 lean pounds. Even though that is not a lot of weight, I have noticed that my upper body is looking more fuller & the muscles look harder.

If you have not yet performed DVR's, I suggest that you do whether you are recovering from illness or not.

Take care,
Steve

Hi Steve:

Great post and I am glad you are recovering well. Keep up the great work. DVR's are great. I do them often myself.

Steve glad to here your feeling better and working out. I love DVR's and use them daily in the M7. To be honest until I did them I would never have believed they'd work so well, and I've done Isometrics and Dynaflex for a long time. JP's book IPR tell you how to do the IPF's correctly, he is a good writer and communicator; using Dynaflex many guys did it differntly, same for the Atlas Course some did it as Isometrics.

I am in agreement. I have begun to use more DVRs in my own workouts. I have done them mainly with shoudler exercises and taken some from my weight lifting days. I have really enjoyed the Arnold press and the barbell press. It is great to be able to do these without the "burden" of weights. Keep up the good work and best wishes in your recovery.

I know how you feel steve. I lost almost 40 pounds when i got sick a couple months ago. It took me a month to gain it all back but i wasnt able to train. The doctor wants to gain another 20 pounds so im working on that right now but now i can workout. If you have gained five pounds of muscle thats nothin to sneeze at. Im glad your feeling better and congrats on the muscle gains.

Steve thats great you're getting better and using DVRs to help you train thats awesome bro. I'm also in agreeement how powerful DVRs are. I have begun to use them among other calisthenics in my morning workout and believe me with a few DVRs at 3x10 each plus Cals flowing with energy and power and addition to deep breathing exercises i'm set. DVRs are without question one if not the best result-producing method without tearing up joints and other parts that need to be healthy.
