After watching your recent Video on Isometrics in which you demonstrate the the contraction generated by bending
the Arm, touching the Ear, and twisting the Wrist it occurred to me that it would be possible to generate an Isometric Contraction at several different Ranges of Motion simply by twisting the Wrists either outward (Back/Biceps) or inward to hit the (Shoulders/Chest/Triceps). A good example of this would be the McSweeny Wrist Twist. Thus, using the Bicep Curl no matter what position you are in via the Range of Motion you could exercise the (Shoulder/Triceps/Chest) by twisting the Wrists inward and the (Biceps/Back) by twisting the Wrists outward.

It possiblly would be less difficult for some people to generate an Isometric Contracction by twisting the Wrists rather
than using some other type of resitance.

Hey entrma,

Good observations and right on the mark. It's all about body mechanics and learning how to contract and relax any muscle at will.

entrma Frank R. Young had that and much more in his Yoga book, Yoga for men, he was a Chiroprator and thus studied that exact type of use. He wrote a second Yoga book, in fact all his books had exercises. John just noted he wrote about some weird stuff, but I always thought he was just pandering to book buyers, really just packaging "positive thinking" and differnt exercises that he invented as magic crap, he using that point to make money. I never thought the exercises were anything but exercise.
