Hey Friends,
It's always wonderful to receive letters of gratitude. And I hope that what I am about to share here inspires each of you to share your insights and personal victories. Why? Because it might just be that you are sharing an insight that literally points another person in the path of total victory and transformation.
Here is a good example. About a month and a half or two months ago I had shared that Jack King had told me that when he first started doing Push-Ups that standard Floor Push-Ups were too hard on his wrists and shoulders and caused him a great deal of pain due to previous injuries. So much so that standard floor Push-Ups were out of the question. BUT Jack persevered and discovered that by doing a more intense variation with his feet elevated to 16" or more that he could actually place the stress almost completely on the working muscles of his Chest, Shoulders, Arms, and Upper Back and thereby eliminate pain to both wrists and shoulders joints. In other words, by doing a more intense variation or what we call the Liederman Push-Up (as was promoted by early 1920's Physical Culturist Earle Liederman) Jack was able to transform his Chest, Arms, and Shouilders to his highest level of aesthetic development in world record time. Not only that but the Push-Ups also helped Jack to heal his shoulders over the course of time.
Anyway, the man that e-mailed me this morning was motivated to try this variation because he too could not perform the standard Floor Push-Up and yet he is now performing sets of 40 or more of the more advanced variation and he says the muscles of his upper body have been filling out perfectly and he is thrilled with his progress. He said that had he not read that thread about Jack King, and that a more advanced variation may be more in line with his capability that he would never have thought of trying it. So friends remember this because it may be that in some exercises that more advanced variations that are more intense on the muscles themselves may in fact protect your joints and make your training far better and more result producing. It's worth considering but always use your own discretion.
