I ran across this the other day, have used it a few time now and it really seems to have a strong mental effect. It couldn't be simpler either...

Set a rep goal and count backwards!

A lot of people may already do this. Counting backwards seems to have a strong physiological effect of making you think you have to get to 1. Works for me at least. Give it a try.

My tricks:

Don't count ten. Count five - And 1, And 2, And 3, .. . .

For squats, don't count a hundred. Count twenty-five - 1 2 3 1, 1 2 3 2, 1 2 3 3 , etc.

I frequently count reps by twos 1,1, 2,2,3,3...
