lifted iron pretty regularly for 5 years and gained some descent muscle. had shoulder surgery back in 2005 and haven't done anything but military pushups and pullups since. Im 39 now and cant stand weights and all the nagging injuries that come with heaving them around. after reading lots of posts I now know I can do a lot more with my own body weight. I look forward to making some advances in size and losing some fat too. here's a pic of me (age 39) I took about a month ago. hello to all as well

Nice bicep and lat taper. You can't go wrong with pullups and pushups. Even the bodybuilders of the forties and fifties had a mantra for upper body - Dips and Chins!

thanks Greg. i did my first 100 rep atlas pushup workout last night and I can really feel it this morning. it's a good sore though. I really like the idea of bodyweight training. it just makes sense. lifting weights works but it really it really takes a toll on your joints. thanks again and God bless
