I had a unique experience, we had 2 brownouts and lost our electric power one night; all night and a few days later in the night for 3 hours. Plus within days my new, expensive central air conditioner suddenly started working poorly and failed on the hottest day of the year. I had two fans on me all night when the air died and was still hot.

This was kind of a test for the worst case senario, many survivalists desire. That is insane! We are used to simple modern comforts.

I have bad lungs and depend on modern medications, and know if I stop getting my med's my asbestosis will resurface and kill me, maybe slowly, I asked the MD! Still have the asbestos in my lungs and the scars that improved will worsen without medication. I'd lost 40% of my lung capasity and was losing more (40% was my best showing, when my asthma was good and during good weather); then the new medications came on the market and cured me.

I have a desire to survive, thought about moving West to the Mountains where it is cooler than the deserts. That is what they did in the 1800s. I exercise to continue with my life, am a shooter and former Law Enforcement, worked Violent Felonies and did Violent Felony Warrants, paramilitary.

I hope and pray the USA never faces any disaster. God bless you all.

Hi All,

Been traveling for the last couple of weeks. Had a chance to visit John to see how our RES-PECT project is goig as well as have my students compete in the World Tang Soo Do Champioships. It is great to be back, and our school did great to represent Alaska. Had 14 competitors and place in 13 divisions. I am very proud of all of them. Mike, I am sorry to hear about you health problems, and to be honest, I have no idea how bad it could get. I think if the government does not get it together, the way we live now may be a thing of the past. I sure hope not!!!! Take care and as always please be safe, your friend, Larry

Larry i got a reprive; the Pulmonary Doctor's at a University Health Center had given me the "the talk", I was dying and would need a lung transplant at the end to keep going". The US investment in the Drug Industry Paid off for me big time! They invented Asmanex Twisthalers and Floridil Aerolyzers; and I was cured, normal lung capasity and testing! Testing on bad days to!

Larry I have friend;'s that worry the US is going back to the 1800's one way or another. Now it might take me many years to return to where I was and that would be ok. Thank God those drugs helped so many people at the Pulmonary Clinic. My diagnosis went from Abestosis down to COPD and then further downward to Asthma!

My hope is that the USA never suffers a massive problem. Her people will suffer. But it means we better be ready. Several friend's told me that Mountain House freeze dried food and MREs they tried tasted like crap, and that is important information. I recommend all America's read the Mormon Preparedness Guide. It is free online just google it or look on older posts in this forum.

Good luck Larry and bless you and all on the forum.
