I wonder what makes people like Oprah yo-yo to such extremes? I'm sure she has cooks that fix all of her meals, it's got to be easy for her to get all of her nutrition managed by her staff. I feel sorry for her.

I agree Joe. I have to fell bad for her also. But even if she does have cooks fix ALL of her meals. She can also eat what ever she wants in between those meals. This is more than likely where that extra weight is coming from. Do you agree with this my friend? Anyway All the best.

Let me amend that... I feel sorry for here but then I realize how much money she has and... well, the tears just don't come! :rotfl:

My guess is she cheats on her meals a lot and eats out a lot. She seems to be a classic "emotional eater"

I think a lot of it is emotional. I knew a woman some years ago who yo-yoed on her weight. When she got under stress she would eat compulsively. Her mother, when she was a child, gave her food everytime she felt bad to make her feel better. That childhood conditioning pattern continued into adulthood and when under stress she ate compulsively.

Here's Tom Venuto's thoughts. Pretty good stuff I think.

Hey Friends,

I appreciate the kindness that I see exhibited in these posts about Oprah. Personally, I think that part of her problem is due to hormonal causes. If that is case, there are medical treatments that can make a tremendous difference for her.

But I also want to remind each of you that regardless of a persons wealth or prominence, every life has it's challenges. Believe me, one way or another, we are all challenged. And in one way or another, every life is tough. In some cases tougher and more challenging than anyone can begin to imagine.

Once again, it's wonderful to see the compassion that is extended to Oprah in this thread.

Many of the Hollywood elite have live in chef and trainer. We see them on TV and in Movie and think they are naturally slim and fit. Oprah has a chef, maybe she needs a trainer and to workout. Yeah she is a Billionaire but she doesn't seem happy.

Years ago I saw Mr. T and Hulk Hogan on the Carson Show. They were great to watch and explained how actors got fit for movies. Both were cast for a Rocky film. They both lived at a Boxing Camp in Venice Beach, California for 18 months to two years (I can't recall the exact time frame but it was a long time). They slept in a Hotel and a old boxer was by the elevator; at a desk all night so you couldn't leave without getting written up, he monitored your entry and exists; meals were supervised, training was at the Gym and life was supervised 24 hours a day. The Boxing Camp trained guys to be Boxer's and preped Professional Boxer's.

Mr. T was saying how Hulk Hogan learned to unscrew the window screen using a dime, they'd escape and go to McDonalds and would devour fries and burgers then sneak back in. They mentioned that Stallone lived there a year and arrived in good shape.

When they made the movie they were both perfect for the roles and became stars. Both seemed like great guys and the best of friends. Hulk Hogan went on to become a real Wrestler; he'd been a actor, Mr. T became famous and a actor.

Hard work and disciplne it the ticket. A lot of greats are made. Oprah's Shows failed the first few times; the Network tried to make her a star. She was a nobody and the Network had her replac Mike Douglas and he was a star; she bombed that time! I read that the Network poured a Billion dollars into making her a hit and didn't give up; maybe she went to Star Camp in Venice Beach.
