The Cove

I just finished watching a documentary called The Cove. It is about the remote and hidden cove in Japan where thousands of Dolphins are murdered and their meat is then sold as whale meat even though it contains extremely high levels of mercury. To say this movie was eye opening is an understatement. I am an animal lover and a vegetarian and the scenes that show the actual killings tore me apart. It also talks about the extent people and governments will go to cover things up. One of the special features on the DVD talks about the rising mercury level's in fish and the deadly effects mercury can have on humans. It also talks about how mercury is in the vaccines we give are children and raises the question "is this safe". Just thought I would let you guys know about the DVD. I found it hard to watch but I am glad there are people who take great risks to expose things that they think are wrong. For the record I am not saying I am against vaccines but the DVD raises some questions and makes me want to do some more research myself. There is actually a follow up to The Cove that I think will be on the Discovery Channel this week showing what has happened since the documentary came out. I would check it out guys but be warned there are some gruesome scenes that can be hard to take.
