Hey everyone, my name is Guy, I am 20 years old and I live in Israel. I've been wandering around these forums for a while now, and I decided it's time for my first post :)

As of right now I've been working out using body-weight only (Push-ups & Pull-ups) for maybe.. 6 months, but in the last 2 I've started doing a daily routine of self resistance isometrics.

Now, my ultimate goal is to increase my arm size & strength, and to be more specific, I aim for 'The Golden 17" Arm'. (Right now I measure 14" for the right arm bicep)

When I started isometrics, I also started writing a personal log tracking my weight (83 Kg), my right arm bicep measure, and how many Push-ups & Pull-ups I can do in 1 set until failure. Since then, I've also changed my routine to only do that 1 set of Push-ups & Pull-ups twice a week, at Monday and Thursday. At this point I am able to do 18 Pull-ups in a row, and 75 Push-ups in a row.

And now, for the following month, I'm going to experiment with doing only VRT workouts, and for the whole month, not going to do even 1 (Real) Push-up or Pull-up, and see the increase at the end of the month + measure my right arm again :)

And of course I'll be posting the results here as well :)

Here are my 8/30/2010 pictures for overall body shape. (I'll taking pictures every month or so)
(I look quite serious in these photos, I am not. :hug-left:)

Lookin' great bro! You got a Jason Statham look going on there. Grow a little stubble and people might give you a second look on the street. :)

Good luck, Guy! I'll be curious to hear your results from VRT/DVR only pullups. I should also mention that I enjoy doing DVR pushups, where you do an actual pushup but much more slowly and with added tension. I did 4 sets of these on Tuesday (Atlas I style on chairs for added range of motion) and got major soreness 48 hours later, despite the fact that I've been doing 100-150 pushups a day normally. It was an interesting result!

Also, if you aren't gaining mass, you may need to eat more, especially more good quality protein.

I definitely need to eat more good quality protein cause basically I eat a lot of junk these days... I probably need to sleep more too cause I only get 5-6 hours a night in the middle of the week. Some habits need changing :)

Hey Guy,

It's great to have you with us!

You are looking AWESOME man!

Please keep us posted on your progress. I am very interested to see how much a month of DVR's improve your pushup & pullup numbers.

The best is yet to come :)

Take care,
Steve

*Update*

I made a bet with someone today, that by the 30th of November, I'll be able to perform a 1 arm pull-up.

Just started my training today, looks like it's gonna take some work :D

Any advice?

*Update*

My right arm measure is now 14.5"
that is half an inch larger than a month and a half ago, looks like I'm on the right track :)
