Hey Friends,

Received an e-mail this morning asking this question. Here is my answer.

In Ultimate Push-Ups for the Awesome Physique I feature seven separate Atlas Variations. By doing these seven variations the shoulders, chest, upper back and arms are developed from multiple angles and directions and create a beautifully balanced strength and development that will protect one from injury.

As usual, the readers will likely come up with additional variants to match their skill level; JP's books inspire these "extrapolations"

Wow,I can't wait!

7 variations! It will be interesting to try and figure out those 7?
Everything publication is an instant classic!

I think people should realize how lucky we are to have such a mentor-John you are on a roll and arguably the greatest roll in Physical Culture history!

Keep them coming John-the world needs this sorely as we look at epidemic obesity and diabetes rates.

Thank you John!!!!

In John McCallum's book 'Keys to Progress', there is a chapter titled "softening up for better gains". The advice in this chapter is simple; after a period of time at a given level, lighten up on intensity, duration and frequency. Slight liberties are to be taken on the diet as well. This increased amount of rest with increased caloric intake can increase a lifter's strength and muscle mass. The G.U.T.S. workout is a great way to build overall health and conditioning in a minimum amount of time. Every member on this forum (myself included) will vouch for the intensity for the routine. After several weeks, followers of the GUTS workout may want something different. The workout in the new book may provide a change of pace. It may also be what some people may want for increased strength and muscle mass while maintining conditioning.

I look forward to the new book as well.
