View Full Version : Herschel Walker - Breaking Free: My Life with Dissociative Identity Disorder
Been reading Herschel Walker's book about his struggle with mental illness. The book fills in some of the gaps about his life story from his first book about training.
Throughout his life Herschel has turned to God for direction and comfort. That is the best message of the book. Remembering that when everything is against us, God will be there.
All the Best.

I didn't know they changed the name of multiple personality disorder to dissociative identity disorder. I'm out of date.

I read Hershell's book, and based on what I read, I don't think he has any disease at all.
He says he acts differently when he's around different people. Well, guess what? We all do that. No one acts the same when they're with their mate, as they do with their boss, or their best friend, or a stranger they just met. It's called being human.
The book did have some interesting things to say about his training, though.

This is a man that used his drive and brain to overcome an illness and honest enough to tell people, so he could help others.
Dr. I suspect the diagnosis was established by the best Psychitrists in thier field. I read he couldn't recall major events in his life.
