Since i'm an hour away from San Francisco I have a lot to cheer about as the Giants are heading back to the world series since 2002 when i just started being a senior in High School. This had to be one of the most intense ball games i've ever witnessed. On Tuesday my father and I went to one of the last games in the series against philly and they won it 3-0 and not only was it a great experience for me being there for my first ever playoff game but for my father this was his first playoff game since he was almost 15 back in 1964 when the Giants had the greats of Willie Mays, Orlando Cepeda and Willie McCovy. My old man at that time in the summer his grandfather would give him a few bux to go to the game and put him on a bus to go back when it was the norm for those kids and giants fans of the bay area. You cannot do that anymore and its a shame. One of my first games i ever remember was a game in the month of june in 1993 when I was barely 9 years old at Candlestick Park when Matt Williams was the big star of the Giants before Bonds came on the scene but it was at that time when I loved going to the games despite the cold weather it was awesome watching those guys knock one out of the park. As i'm concerned this is most likely gonna be an even match up of great pitching and supurb defense. This will be a World Series to remember. I not only wanted to make this topic about The Giants but I wanted to have you guys write about any games you remember or who your favorite players were or if you can do it talk about games you wished you saw before the steriod era.

Hey Benny congrats go to the giants even though I'm a big PHILLIES fan. They played tough and seemed like they were destine to win.The phillies just did not hit the ball when they most needed to.
On that note,it's hard to pick a favorite player on this phillies team.I'd have to go with Shane Victorino because of his personallity.
When I was 10 years old in 1980 I went to my first game.I remember Greg LUZINSKI hit a homerun that look like it went out of Vets stadium.Back then my favorite player was Mike Schmidt.I don't know if that was before the steriod age but when your a kid you didn't know back then.

Thats great mike......I never heard of Greg Luzinski but i bet he was a great player for the team. Ya I think the steriod era for baseball started in the late 80's cause of Jose Conseco. One of my favorite players growing up was Ken Griffey jr. He wasn't a big dude compared to the other bombers of big size he had a good solid build but yet he can bomb the ball out of the park anywhere he wanted. It was in my opinion when he was with the Mariners when he was at his best then when he went to Cinn Reds thats when his body began to take its toll even he knocked a few dingers here and there but his time at Seattle was when he flourished with hits, homers, ribbies and average. He was a great fielder too and can run the ball down unlike a lot of the guys today.
